Variable Height Spline Object?

I’ve been playing around with an MR idea and I’m looking for something to use for the fascia that would match the variable height of the terrain at the top and stay the same height at the bottom. Sort of the reverse of JR’s terrain track. I can use a backdrop, but I’d rather simulate fascia cut to match the contours of the layout. I’m not even sure if this is possible, but if anyone knows of something that does this I’d appreciate it if you could post the name and/or kuid. Thanks.
 
I don't think anything like that exists, but it sure is a cool idea. This could be a textured surface such as rocks or perhaps a wood/plaster texture for the back of a baseboard. As a simple spline, it could be made to follow the terrain by dragging on it.

I'm sure one of the content creators might makes something like this as it seems pretty easy for them as it's probably just a piece of invisible track with the mesh growing underneath.

Thanks for the response. I don’t know enough about content creation to argue, but I think it might be a little more complicated because the mesh has to shrink and expand. There are a number of assets that follow the terrain, but they remain the same height. If the top is at 0m then the bottom is at -10m, but when the top is at +5m the bottom also moves up and is at -5m. What I’m looking for is something where the bottom remains at -10m regardless of what the top is (say up to about 20m). Does that make sense?
 
What you're talking about would probably be possible (visually) using 2 spline objects overlapping. The bottom with fixed height vertices, the top with ground level vertices.

Would there perhaps be some texture interference/flashing? I'm asking because I've been wondering about something similar myself.

Thanks for the suggestion. I played around with it briefly and, as Ray suggested, there was some flashing where the two overlapped. That might be eliminated with more careful placement and a more appropriate spline asset. For now, I think I'll just stick with a backdrop. Thanks again everyone.
 
Thank you, Rick. I mentioned flashing because of a problem when I placed one of my own backdrops in front of another of mine to give greater depth - the front one at times developed a blue tinge round it's outline, but not always!
