Using Street View in Google Map?

I tried to use Street View in Google Map but Street View simulates views from a car as you go along the street and trying to zoom in to buildings along the street resulted in getting blocky pixels. I wish that I can get out of the car and go through the subway station. I want to see how the station and tracks look like. I know about nycsubway.org website but the photos are usually taken by fans and the trains are blocking the views of the station and tracks. Any suggestions?

Nope.
Street view is fairly worthless to Trainz unless the track runs right along the street.

It helps you get the crossings right.

Yes, I suppose I overlooked that valuable use of Google Street View. Of course, if you are viewing a street named "Railroad Avenue", like so many are, it will probably help then too.;)

Unfortunately this doesn't work with subway stations, but I find it light years more useful then Google street view. http://maps.live.com
Use the 'birds-eye' feature. It's really great when you need to figure out scenery or complex track configurations.

I found out that Google Maps has newer photos than Live Search Maps. For proof, visit both websites and look at the area where Staten Island Railway crosses Staten Island Expressway near Hylan Blvd. The photo of that area shows bus/HOV lanes on SI Expressway in Google Maps. The photo of that area in Live Search Maps shows the SI Expressway before the bus/HOV lanes were built.

For my area of Cornwall UK Google Earth was showing as it was in 2001 but has recently been updated to 2005 so it is still four years behind.... Birds eye views are not available for rural areas either.:(
