Thanks for the guidance. Seems to be working although in some maps the textures don't show up in the minimap. Also, is there a color convention for the features? It seems the shorelines are blue, surface streets are red, highways are orange, tracks are blue-gray (I'm a little colorblind). Is that about right?

The colors displayed are usually the default colors that MicroDem uses for the various features. Most people don't make any changes to these. The TIGER format itself doesn't specify any colors for the line data. If you have MD installed you can see what the defaults are and which features it will display. A number of post in the old forums had complete listings of these.Dermmy--
