Seems to be the American Way, "When all else fails read the directions", reading the directions first is considered cheating or something. :hehe:

Something you may do with such a route is to include a Read-Me file that has a list of locations for the "Red" content

Tried that - didn't work, or at best it worked poorly! Accessing the 'Read Me' requires opening the route for edit and that is something that many users are either unable - or at least unwilling - to do.

What I do now is place a list of links on the download page above the download link for the route and/or session. In effect you have to scroll past the list to download the route.

That works for most users, but you still wouldn't believe the number of forum posts and emails I answer pointing folks to active links they have scrolled past unseeing...

And it works out quite well for most of us The only possible hitch there is when the 3rd party sites completely grenade..... I've still never managed to run most of the sessions for EK3 (damn nice route btw) because of the (rebuilding?) of RRMods and USLW and inavailability of some content - but I'll say this, Andy, it's all your fault I got turned on to Pofig's trees and I feel sorry for the folks that are gonna have to download em for mine when it's done, but it's all worth it to get the feel I wanted for that particular route.

No need to feel sorry Gearhead for sum the hunt is worth it, sure there are those who cry and carry on about DLS only but in my opinion well over half of what's on the DLS isnt worth having anyway's, Sure site's may go down or disappear but isnt that half the fun of Route building for sum,Taking sumone else's work and changing it more to your liking. When site's do go down there are also folk's working hard in the back ground trying to get that Content back up, Young Sam has done just that for alot of the USLW Content along with Mike and i'm sure there's sumone at RRMod's doing the same. Dermmy is forever chasing stuff for his Route's/Session's when site's disappear or close for awhile to re-sort them selve's out. So it's not always the DLS or the Highway as sum may push across.
