Don't forget that a diesel's maintenance cost was almost 0 when it was not in use, unlike a steamers.

Of course, Jade...that's true...as well as a number of other things. I was just pointing out that the speed factor had nothing to do with the ascension of diesel technology over steam. :)

HA HA HA...Yeah...I know....Just wanted to see what it would look like to have the Amtrak and that Clinch loco on there with that kind of sky on that kind of a layout....I purdy much was not going by what RR ran on it this time around :hehe:

To some degree SPNG is right. While the streamliner is sitting at the station it will not be for much longer - therefore the dispatcher would hold the freight untill after the streamliner has departed so it can have more time to climb the grade ahead.

Then again - its a game :p

An early morning CN stack train is just leaving Stevens Point with a new crew to take this train up towards Canada.
