USA Pics

Thanks, it was alot of fun to make. I built the tracks, then I created the mountain. Then what I did was started digging away at the mountain.

I have to say that I am really proud of how the textures on the pit turned out.

Yeah I do like that a lot :).....Lets see more pix of that great route :)

I am just letting you know that it is going to be later tonight before I post more pics. I have a few things that I would like to complete on it before I show more. :P

Well, I have gotten a few more shots of my current WIP. As you can tell, I still have alot of work to do on this section alone. It is currently only a few baseboards, and I am soon going to be laying the track for the yard in Mayburry, as well as the town itself.

November 1964. Vermont
Mayburry Gravel Company's RS11 has been repainted from it's original Seaboard scheme, and has also been renumbered to engine 51. The paint is hidden under built up dust and grime from working the local Mayburry yard, and the nearby Mayburry Gravel pit. Today we follow it as it takes a string of 4bay hopper cars to the gravel pit to be filled with aggragate. It is a brisk November day, and the sky is threatening rain.

We find engine 51 after it leaves Mayburry yard, and pushes the hoppers down the Boston and Maine mainline.

After a short distance, engine 51 crosses White's creek. In the background we can see one of Vermont's iconic covered bridges.

Engine 51 then begins to round the mountain. There is a pretty good view from above the cut in the mountain.

We are now approaching the gravel pit, and you can start to see the machinary and the grey of the gravel through the trees.

This road provides access to the gravel pit. Engine 51 stops on the crossing, before reversing into the Gravel branch line.

To be Continued...

Continued.
Engine 51 slides down the slight grade into the gravel pit, hoppers in tow.

She then cuts away from the hoppers and heads into the tunnel on its way back to Mayburry.

A few minutes later, engine 51 emerges from the tunnel, still obeying the 25 mph limit on the short branch line.

She then crosses White's creek again.

Isstaten...I was a bit short in my comment about your screenshot. I would like to expand on it by saying your route is looking really good. Keep it up!

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. You should enter that shot in the weekly screenshot competition.

Jadebullet! Holy Crap!
Thats Awesome!
Although, Might want to change the track to something else.. that bright fresh gravel doesn't fit the scene. Good job anyway.. Love the paint on the ALCo, just what an ALCo should look like.
