Well, I have gotten a few more shots of my current WIP. As you can tell, I still have alot of work to do on this section alone. It is currently only a few baseboards, and I am soon going to be laying the track for the yard in Mayburry, as well as the town itself.
November 1964. Vermont
Mayburry Gravel Company's RS11 has been repainted from it's original Seaboard scheme, and has also been renumbered to engine 51. The paint is hidden under built up dust and grime from working the local Mayburry yard, and the nearby Mayburry Gravel pit. Today we follow it as it takes a string of 4bay hopper cars to the gravel pit to be filled with aggragate. It is a brisk November day, and the sky is threatening rain.
We find engine 51 after it leaves Mayburry yard, and pushes the hoppers down the Boston and Maine mainline.
After a short distance, engine 51 crosses White's creek. In the background we can see one of Vermont's iconic covered bridges.
Engine 51 then begins to round the mountain. There is a pretty good view from above the cut in the mountain.
(Freaking ctrl right click thing.)
We are now approaching the gravel pit, and you can start to see the machinary and the grey of the gravel through the trees.
Looking down the tracks as the local passes the gravel pit.
This road provides access to the gravel pit. Engine 51 stops on the crossing, before reversing into the Gravel branch line.
