That's close to the power on any NS train, you're talking about a railroad with somewhere around 1,900-2,000 C44-9W's (D9-44CW's[All the C40-9W/D9-40CW's were uprated to 4400hp). Keep in mind, NS has around 7,000 locomotives, so we're talking about roughly a third of their entire locomotive fleet.

I know that NS uprated their D9-40CW's to D9-44CW's, I just wasn't certain if he knew that. Also, the D9-44CW's are numbered #8889-#9978, which means that NS has 1,085 D9-44CW's on their roster. If you add up the number of locomotives that makes up NS's roster, regardless of their roadnumbers, NS has 4,250 locomotives on their roster. After doing a bit of math, D9-44CW's make up about 26% of NS's roster.
If you want to check the numbers I posted, check this website: http://www.nsdash9.com/roster.html

That's what I get for taking the lazy way and just using those numbers on rrpicturearchives... Regardless, 26% of a roster is a big percentage for just one locomotive model.

Now this is the right location. :hehe: Just finished the second reskin.
Tri-Rail train sitting in Hialeah waiting to start the day.

I was pretty happy with the first version of this shot but then I realized that I'd left out the Big Boys. D'oh!

None of these are duplicate engines

except for 844, there are three different versions of her.

I see you got some inspiration here from my shots of the Roundhouse. :) Well done NormHart.

Not exactly Matt, I've been working on this shot for about three years now. I finally got a computer powerful enough to not only take these shots but to also allow me to actually drive the locomotives. Somewhere I've got a session that has all the period coaches that go with some of these locomotives.

Nice original composition there Normhart...

Quite the collection of UP power. I would hate to be the Hostler that has to move around all those engines.....

Three years is a long time. Don't let anyone take credit for your hard work!

Keep it up! (Pun intended)

NS kinda day, decided to put together the Roadrailer

Nice shots! What route is that?

I am glad to see people getting some mileage out of those road railers....I fixed them up and VMD was gracious enough to post them up to the DLS for all to have :)
