For his project (and please correct me if I'm wrong), it is a temporary overlay asset. For TransDEM it is imported as a ground texture. If you'd like, you can PM me, explain to me what you're working on, and I could create a DEM for you of that area. Keep in mind this also includes topographical elevation and such. I would be happy to help with your project! Actually, come to think of it, this is an open invitation to everybody! :D I figured I could give back since all of these amazing photo sets are what keeps me motivated when I'm feeling in a slump...

I just wanted to add/correct? that transDEM actually creates a 3d "box" as opposed to a specific ground texture. The google image of the desired area is then superimposed on the top of the "box" which can be raised or sunk into the ground accordingly (no point in moving it, as it is represents the geographical area in question obviously). That's very kind of you to offer to help others though!

The boxes you're referring to are UTM tiles; I find them cumbersome and do not use them in my routes. If you do not select the UTM tiles as part of your export, there is an option to use the geo-referenced raster map as a ground-texture overlay. This is what I normally do for my routes--so a ground texture of an entire large area (let's say the NEC for example) is entirely plausible in TransDEM and can be exported into Trainz if done carefully and correctly.

Thanks @Gisa. I try to give back to the community whenever I can. There might be a small fee of a few dollars charged for the DEMs, only because it's time consuming work, but it is something I enjoy and I am always looking to add to my growing list of projects. And by few, I'm not a shark who translates few to mean twenty or thirty. I'm not that greedy!

P.S. To those two who sent me PMs about DEMs--we will talk about the aforementioned fees since you're requesting large routes. Oh and I almost forgot--EXCELLENT work Flusi!!!! (Like always!)

I was unaware that the AEM-7 was fitted with the AWS system :hehe: (sorry, saw that and couldn't stop myself)

I once tried to build a cab for it, but failed sadly :( Now i have the complete NEC...and no loco with decent cab to drive on it. i know it looks silly

Ok, howed you make that station? I am a gimmie pig right which I apologize for but tats awesome. I have been wanting to make one like that. Can you give me a list of assets and how to's for this?

Hi,

Here's a video that shows the approach to Penn Station on my route: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2cw706qRo0

You can may see what kind of assets i used
The assets are (like pylons, platforms, benches) builtin stuff that i heavily modiefied to look like the real pennsylvania Station.
A list of assets would more be a list of assets only i have...so not needed :p i could send you pics from 8 months ago when i built this station. This is the 4th version now...i modified it every few weeks, added new objects, and now it looks like this ;)

I'm sorry Felix but i have to ask. What are those tunnels called, they are awesome?
But Felix your Penn station platforms look dead on but you outside not so. Reason because their covering the Penn station hole, so adding pre-frame work will really push it over the edge. Not trying to bash you, Great work!

I have been reminded by the publisher of TransDEM that it is a non commercial license so I can't charge a fee for my help. Despite this I am still willing to help those who sent me messages yesterday.
