How do you get a Google Earth overlay in Trainz?
I use sketchup as a quick way to size up and modify buildings to fit the route [Temporary overlay]. Then I import the dimensioned model into Blender for optimization and texturing. The map image is part of Sketchup's "geo-location" function, that allows you to use google maps to aid in modeling

So it's a temporary overlay asset, not imported as the ground texture?

For his project (and please correct me if I'm wrong), it is a temporary overlay asset. For TransDEM it is imported as a ground texture. If you'd like, you can PM me, explain to me what you're working on, and I could create a DEM for you of that area. Keep in mind this also includes topographical elevation and such. I would be happy to help with your project! Actually, come to think of it, this is an open invitation to everybody! :D I figured I could give back since all of these amazing photo sets are what keeps me motivated when I'm feeling in a slump.

@BobCass: Amazing work as always! Love the desert scene! I'm going to be recreating METRO soon with new assets, so you know old UP in Phoenix and Tempe will be included for your eyes!
