Norfolk Southern Gevo is about to hit the Swedeland, PA crossing on the NS Harrisburg line on its way to Abrams yard. It is passing the interchange yard and siding of the Upper Merion and Plymouth. If you look in the distance, you can see UMP #38 crossing the bridge over the Schuylkill on its way back over to the Conshohocken side of the industrial line.

Speaking of the UMP, here we see it delivering rolls of paper into the Philadelphia Inquirer's Swedeland printworks.

UP freight going over the Mojave. 4 SD40-2's, 3 snoots (one of which was 3300, the United Way unit and leader), and the Desert Victory unit with the standard 88" nose.

Actually Dave I believe the diesel engines on steam excursions are there to provide head-end power for the coaches. I also used to wonder why mighty steam engines with light pax consists needed such assistance.

The 4449 used to run her Daylight consist on special occasions without needing a diesel for HEP, back in the 80's and 90's...what changed?
