USA Pics

One of the handiest little things I've found on the DLS in ages are these checkrails by NS37. I've asked a couple of people to make something like this for dressing up road-spline-over-tracks grade crossings, but nothing has ever materialised. It's just a little thing, but they make a heck of a difference to the way the crossing looks....

Nice work Andy, as is the raised ballast merging into the sleepers either side of the roadway.

The checkrail placement is a great tip.

Thanks for sharing.

I was just wondering, what track do you use?

If that's @ me, then the answer is samplaire's. Search the DLS for assets starting with SAM or grab it direct from his site. There are about a hundred versions in both high and lo poly and it is simply wonderful track performance-wise. It is based on European prototype and is not quite right technically for US track, the tie spacing is wrong as is the method of attaching track to tie, but in all but the closest view it is more than acceptable....

Awesome shots, guys!
Agree with that (yours also) :).

Hi Erik - you should start your own thread to keep all those awesome pics together. Between the quality of the route-building and the amazing reskins, you have my jaw droping every time...
Andy ;)
Thank you Andy (and Therichman), I feel flattered by your kind words.
Well, I never thought about it, because I myself do not think my pictures are especially remarkable, and have never believed that they are sufficiently interesting that they deserve their own thread.

Even dirty trains can be quite colorful anyway, hehe.
