Yeah, you're supposed to use PEV's software to fix all those IM/PM errors, I read you can install it and it works automagically.

I refuse to fix more content just on principle!:D

who the heck is "PEV". It doesn't say anything on my Auran package about needing other software to get that 99% compatibility.

I am with you on the refusal. ;)

I think the compatibility might be 99% if you don't include TS2004 assets.

I think you will find that most of the 338 faulty items in my CM2 are from TS2004 that need some type of editing done to fix them.. I have reached a point where I don't even try to download it if it says TS2004 on it. Auran needs to change to wording on their packaging to say "TS2009 is backwards compatible with 99% of the content from previous versions if you are adapt at editing asset files and delivers new features and graphics capatibilities."

oh that, i don't know just because it says there is an error doesn't mean it is not working in the game. i probably just ignore this. i honestly have not edited anything except my own items and i don't feel that i am missing anything from previous versions, maybe this is where the difference is. it isn't auran's fault btw that some items are created wrong, the guidelines have not changed but the rules that say whether or not an item is marked faulty have become more strict. this does not always mean they don't work.

i would also like the point out, that 338 is definitely within the 1% you are talking about.

This is PEV's Graphical Viewer Mesh analysis from Trainz Dev, skidmark22.....

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.
Ok, so we have a PDF doc here written in technical jargon which means very little to someone with limited technical knowledge of the inner working of the Trainz platform. (example: PM; IM etc) I found PEV's software and it says something is needed called a "Trainzmeshimporter.exe". I went to the supposed link to it on the Auran site but there is nothing there by that name or any link to it that I can find.

My feelings is this; I am better off to just stay away from these faulty things than to spend hours researching, studying, searching for software and trying to figure out how it works and learning all the technical jargon about trainz inner workings so I can repair or edit it.. All this causes me stress and I don't need stress. A game should relax you and relieve stress, not cause it. So, I will just stay away from assets for TS2004 and just keep complaining about all the faults which everyone but me seems to know how to fix.

I think you are missing the point here Skidmark - just plain don't fix stuff :)

I have never 'fixed' anything. I have never found anything reported 'faulty' that doesn't work. Now it may be that the 'unfixed' asset places a minuscule amount of extra work on the program, but it works perfectly well as-is.

I would just keep on downloading and installing TRS04 assets if they catch your eye. If you find something that doesn't work, dump it or fix it. But just leave the stuff that does work as it is and ignore the '!'.

Andy :)

Thanks Andy. Sounds like some sound advise which I shall try to follow.

Illinois Central,
How did you get #1007 SW1 to work?
Are there more files for it on more than one site because i only found one website with files.
If so could you tell me what it is or post a link and if not can you tell mw what i can do to fix it.

Thank you very much,
