Altamont pass, California.
West bound WP freight waits for track clearance before decending into Livermore, while being passed on the SP by a Daylight.

It's 1968, and the last D&RGW coal train has left Moreno and is climbing Cumbres pass for the final time. This is also the last run for K-36 #484. She has only this day left on her flue time, and, after she ties up in Alamosa tonight, she will be pushed out behind the roundhouse by MRS-1 #82. there she will sit until 1970, when she is delivered to Antonito and hauled over this same pass to Chama.

This is a sad day for the narrow gauge...

Cool shot sawyer, though, may I speak out about a few things?

1) I thought it was montrose, not moreno(iv never heard of that place on the NG)
2) If so, wouldnt the cars be loaded, if its the place im thinking of. If not, then I guess its fine.

PS: I cant find moreno on a map in Colorado. If it does exsist, where is it. Becouse I just cant seem to find it...

Moreno wasn't a town, It was just a stop on the line from Chama to Durango where a small coal loader was placed. For some reason i want to say it was near pagosa springs, but i'm not sure. In any case, Bendorsey made a model of the loader at some point.

And yes, the cars were supposed to be loaded. I had them loaded the first time i tried to get the shot but TS2009 had a slight hiccup and shut down before i could get to the bridge. The intent was to look like one of the sad frieghts run over cumbres with a single engine in the late 1960's. Afterwords, i kinda spaced loading the cars and just took off. that was a mistake on my part...

Great shots all!

@ Spikerod - That route/s looks great! Very realistic. :)

@ Superfudd - Where can I get the SP Daylight loco???

Thanks, Chris

The GS-4 engine is on the DLS, but it was like the second steam engine made for trainz, ever.
ugh, tell me about it! I went on a campeign to try and update it a little, and I got stuck on the cab....... The texture files for the cab interior are extremely basic. All I wanted to do was to add a few more details...... ie floor logo design etc, but noooooo......... she needs a replacement:o

cheers
