Uploading file

Part 1: Create the asset CDP file

The following description is for Trainz 2006 - I do not have Trainz Classic so I do not know if it is any different.

1. Start CMP (select Manage Content from the Trainz start menu) then select the item to be uploaded. Multiple items can be selected and combined into a pack for uploading.
2. Right mouse click on the selected item (or on any one of the selected multiple items) and select "Save to CDP" from the menu. The selected asset(s) will be packed into a single CDP file.
3. Select a destination drive, folder on your system and enter a filename for the CDP file. Click "Save". Note the location and file name for step 5 below.

Part 2: Upload to the DLS - this should work for all versions of Trainz.

I have never had any success using CMP to do the upload so I have always used the method that worked for Trainz 2004. I use my web browser and the Upload Content feature of the Trainz web site.

1. Go to the Trainz 2004 DLS.

2. Find the Planet.Auran.Login box just below the DLS category icons.

3. Click Result Settings inside the box.

4. In the Planet Auran window that appears click Your Content - the last item on the left side menu list.

5. Click the Upload Content button then follow the prompts.

This can be used to upload packs and individual items as .cdp files.

PS: This only covers the basics - creating thumbnail images (.bmp format files), item descriptions and information htm files that go with the asset are additional tasks.

Hope this helps.

I am having difficulty uploading largish Route Map files of 25-30 meg to the TC3 upload CMP station. Files of less than 1 meg are no problem to upload.
I log in to Planet Auran and have \"Members on Line\" open, but the \"Upload failed : not logged on\" sign comes up for big files after uploading.
I have tried uploading TC3 CPD files to Planet Auran but they dio no seem to be accepted on Planet Auran which seems to work only for 2006 files.
What more do I need to do. I have high speed internet connection already. Downloading is fine on the DLS and CMP.
