Uploading a Custom Route?

LadyWind

Trainz POW MIA
Can anyone explain to me if thier is a specific method to upload a custom-made route?

When I tried it, I received a prompt that my route included built-in assets, and then the CM closed my upload. So, I figure I was doing it wrong. :'(

The prompt asks you if you wish to include the other assets, but will not allow you to if they aren't yours. The answer to the question for most up-loaders will be "no". If you have made a locomotive with dependencies I believe you would be correct to include those in the upload.
I've used CM3 for up-loading some three hundred times as of late, and have not had an issue with it.

Take my advice with a grain of salt though, because as my friend Belkenn says; I don't know anything!

LadyWind, I sent you a PM with basic instructions.

Thanks for the Instructions. I completed the entire process. I have a question though. When I first created the CDP of my route, I simply right-clicked the route in my CM and selected save to CDP, but the actual CDP file was only 436kb. Is this because it is just some sort of link, or shouldnt I have uploaded some huge list of assets, just like a normal download...?

Did I not save the CDP correctly?

I wouldn't let that bother you. The route itself is just a map and a ground file that tells Trainz where everything goes, what everything is, and how high or low everything sits. Lots of text.

Now before someone comes along and says I'm wrong; I am describing it in very general terms, and from a PC that does not have Trainz installed.

My hours of effort could fit into the palm of my hand, and drift away like so many grains of sand...

...436 of them.

(Grains of sand, not palms).

With my luck, each one would eventually end up under my contact lense, so take heart, you haven't yet seen misery!

Can U guys see my route on the DLS? I cant see if it is there because it is already on my PC. Auran sent me an e-mail saying it was approved and that they would put it up.

It is called: 'LadyWind, Canyons of the Wind'

Yes, it is there! I can see it.

Dave

PS If you want to "get the word out" I suggest posting some screenshots in the screenshot forum.

Okay, I am still working on some screenshots and uploading them to Image Shack, thenI will paste a link to it...

Thanks for checking for me.

I'm only worried about how it might come out in a download for someone else. Alot of the routes I downloaded were missing ground textures and tracks, so i am afraid that might happen to mine 2.

Just a bit off-topic but necessary...;)

because as my friend Belkenn says; I don't know anything!
