updating trainz database

I have installed and uninstalled Trainz 2010 4 times now. The last time I used Revo Pro to uninstall it to make sure I got rid of all traces. I am installing from the DVD boxed. I have the taddaemon and tainz,exe running as asministrator
I manually patched up to build 49933. I cannot get past the updating trainz asset database.
If I wait until it finishes and the click on start, content or quit, it does the update again. I disabled my antivirus before installing and updating. I am running Windows 8 with 6 gig of ram, 2.2 ghz dual core, Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family graphics. I cannot get anything to load other than the database checker.

I also ran the database repair from the command prompt.

If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful. I did submit a ticket but would like to get into the simulator before too long.

Welcome to the forums.

With Windows 8, Trainz must be run as administrator, especially if it's been installed in the default location.

I should advise you that your graphics card (or should I say chip, as it is not an actual graphics card) will not work with certain Trainz features which may include Content Manager.
