Updating content from TRZ2006 to 2009

Sorry for a question which I've no doubt has been asked before....I previously used Trainz 2006 and have just installed the 2009 version. How do I get my downloaded trains in 2006 to appear in the 2009 game?

I've tried copying the folders in the "local" file across to the new folders for 2009 and running content manager, but this doesn't do anything.

You can't just copy the local folder from 2006 to 2009. Run CMP and select File - Import Content and point to the 2006 local folder. If you have a lot of files in the 2006 local folder you might want to break it up into several import operations, limiting each to 100 to 200 folders. After you've finished be sure to commit if you don't have the autocommit option selected.
