Update on the KCS Meridan Speedway.

This route is about Kansas City Southern starting a the KCS Deramus Yard and ending in Vicksburg,MS.There is the KCS Alexandria Subdivision from Bossier City and ending in Alexandria. Lets start off with some history. The KCS Vicksburg Sub is owned by KCS,and Norfolk Southern part owner. So you NS fans you can run NS trains over the route. The KCS Alexandria Subdivision is based on KCS/CSX trains combined. I live beside this line,and there is a lot of runthrough power for CSX,UP,Ferromex,and more. Their is a couple of UP lines and yards on the route. The three main roads KCS,NS,and UP. There will be three short lines Louisiana Southern,Louisiana Northwestern,and Arkansas,Louisiana,Mississippi.

Here is a Eastbound EBSVX headed for Vicksburg,MS coming through Sibley,LA.

Thanks,and also the KCS Vicksburg Subdivision is heavily CTC controlled. The is a very busy line. They run trains that 5 mins apart for each other. One day I watch 3 trains 5 mins apart pass me,and power was SD70ACes,SD40-2s,and AC44CW,and they all had nice K5LAs.

Well i'm done with the KCS Alexandria Sub,and I just got done with the KCS/LNW yard in Gibsland,LA on the KCS Vicksburg Sub.

Well I ran two trains on the KCS Vicksburg line from Bossier City to Arcadia,LA. Let me tell you it took 45 mins to run that portion. Lets tell a story.

Lets say you are a engineer running a Eastbound grain from Shreveport to Vicksburg. The power is three KCS GP40s,and the train is 74 cars loaded with grain. You had to switch all the way to the eighth notch,but there is wheelslip,so you put it back down to notch 0. Finally you get the train moving ,and the GP40s are struggling with the 74 car train,but you got it to 30 mph,and you are good.

5 mins apart a EB Manifest with to new KCS SD70ACes,and a ES44AC.That train is at least 5mins behind you,and you though that train is easier to pull with 31000 HP.

I still remember being at that spot chasing a KCS Eastbound with three KCS SD40-2 snoot noses.
