Unknown KUIDs?

Hi All,
I used to have Trainz 2004 and played it for years. A few days ago I bought Trainz 2012 and looked forwards to starting again. I particularly like building layouts along the lines of fantasy working rail museums allowing my to mix regions and dates realistically. The first thing I did was import all my previous downloads from T2004 over on the Content Manager, but I found a lot of assets (or whatever they are called - locomotives particularly) no longer worked. So I started afresh by deleting everything and re-installing T2012 with a view to do my downloads again in a more organized fashion.
The thing is this, a lot of the locomotives I try to download have missing dependencies, even though they have, according to Download Station, been uploaded withing the last six months are so. The main error seems to be one or two unknown KUIDs - as when viewed in the asset list, with a question mark to the left and no description to the right.
I have tried searching using the KUID code but never with any success, so of course the loco won't work in surveyor. Is there anything at all I can do to solve this and get the locos working. It is really annoying because I want some British steam engines with tenders, but not a single one has worked yet.
I did have a search for an answer before posting this, but any similar threads have either not had a reply or don't have a reply I understand. I am fairly new to the content manager (it is v3.5 if that matters).
Many thanks in advance
By the way, some of the downloads that don't work on T2012 worked on my T2004 - a Merseyrail DMU is one example - is that relevant?

Hi fytch,

Welcome to the forums.

If you are having problems with unknown KUIDS, post them here.

I'd also advise installing patches if you haven't already, as one of these may help.

Thanks Shane,
I'll get them together and post them here later. My T2012 is from Steam so it should be updated automatically.
Also, I have restored my T2004 folder which was fortunately still in my recycle bim. I'll have a rummage around in there to see if any of the unknown KUIDs are in there.

Most Steam games do, but unfortunately there are no patches for the Steam version of Trainz 12 (partly due to Steam not allowing direct patching).

Ok Shane, this is where I am... I have attempted to download three different versions of the Gresley N2 by Lielestobrat... They all have the same unknown KUIDs - Unknown Location: <kuid:116296:360> & Unknown Location: <kuid:116296:363>...
I have searched my T2004 folder and found, in the world/dispatcher/downloads subfolder folders for for thos KUID codes, except each one has a '2' on the end (eg - kuid2 116296 360 2). Both folders seem to contain files, judging from the jpeg, for a driver and fireman.
So, I am wondering is it possible to copy the folder from T2004 to T2012, and if so, to what location, and, will they still work even with those extra '2's on the end?
And thanks again to take the time to help. I know I have been long-winded, but I know how hard it is to offer help if one does not have as much information as possible.

In TS12's Content Manager, click File, then Import Content. Use the folder selection dialog that appears to point Content Manager at the TRS2004/World/Dispatcher/Downloads folder, then click OK. Content Manager will then import the assets. If the asset is already installed, you can click Skip or Skip All unless you do want to overwrite the already installed version of an asset.

Thanks Shane, I'll have a go at that. On the plus side I have finally managed to download one or two steam engines with tenders that have no problems. Have a pleasant weekend.

Will do - only thing I will say is watch out for any faulty dependencies or assets. There is a sticky in the TS2010 forum that deals with asset errors.
