As it is lifting only one end and the non-engine end anyway, halve the weight, the crane has its jacks down and it is a 94 ton lift. Nothing special. main problem is keeping away from the front end of the loco, note the angle of the jib.

Actually the weight distribution on a locomotive is very even. From one end to the other they are usually within 1000 lbs. It sounds like a lot but when you consider it has 200,000 + lbs on one end it's not much. That loader acting as a counterweight isn't that big. That's only about a 2¼ yard bucket on a 35,000 lb machine. The bucket's the light end until you fill it up.
