Yeah, $40 bucks alright BUT this is not just for the Challenger. This is for a year's subscription to d/load ANYTHING on their payware site. This includes among other fine steam engines there, 2 versions of Challengers, 2 versions of Big Boys and their tenders as well as the incredible Huge Boy. One has to see and drive this beast to experience this fictitious engine. As well as all the excellent routes included in the payware section there plus much more.

I have NO connection to TrainzItlia but I would recommend the spending of a year's subscription for the above as this is money well spend.

My opinion .

Cheers

Hi All: I personnally think $40 dollars is too much for any engine..I paid $29.95 for this game for entertainment, and it should contain any engine I want, thats Auran's part..But thats not the case, but it should be..

P.S. Payware sucks..

You paid $29.95 for a $50 game, and you think it should contain 'any engine you want'? When you buy a car, do you expect it to fly and run underwater and go into space?

I'll agree that $40 would be steep for one single engine. However, if, as another poster pointed out, you get full access to a site with tons of material, then that's not so bad. Essentially it's a First Class Ticket.

For those that dont remember, The challengers used to be freeware. Then Trainzitala made them payware items.
I still have the freeware items.
And no you cannot have them. Sorry.

If you were to put in the amount of time and effort required to produce a high quality item - especial a steam locomotive - you would understand why payware exists. If you were to spend literally hundreds of hours producing something you would want compensation too.

Everyone wants something for nothing!

My two cents

smash: Thanks for the imput..I realize that it takes many hours to make a Engine..But you see what happened MSTS for charging for everthing(gone)..I do not intend to start a controversy, but I stand by what I said..I truly believe that Auran should have included some payware engines with there Package..Lets call it Marketing

I might be wrong on this but...
As I recall Trainz V.1 and utc did not have The bigboy. Somebody was selling one as payware. Auran asked him if they could include the Bigboy with Trs2004. we have had it ever since.
Not exactly what you are asking for but it was a start.
Also in Trs2006 Phic_c was kind enough to let Auran include three of his Loco's.
