Union Pacific Central Subdivision

Hey guys, I have been playing with Trainz 2010 since mid-September now and I have decided to start my own route. This will just be my personal route, but I would like to share my progress with you.

The route will be based on the Union Pacific, through the central states and will run in a NW direction. I plan to have one major city with a lot of action and a major yard. There will also be yards for the BNSF and KCS with a small NS presence so I can interchange cars between them. After that it is a double track heavy mainline the rest of the way, dotted with small towns and probably a shortline interchange somewhere along the way. I have re-routed several of the Amtrak trains across my route so I can build a nice passenger terminal. I plan to keep the route up-to-date as far as equipment and practices go.

Stay tuned for screenshots as I progress.

Thanks,
Chris

Here is the first part of my new route. This is one of the run-thru refueling areas. I went a little further on this one so I can cut and paste it to the other end. Comments and/or suggestions are welcome.

Well, thanks to a hard drive failure I had to start over :'( Holidays kept me busy but today I was able to get back on and laid down 115 miles of double track mainline. I've been using the mile long train measuring tool to set my milepost locations.

Does anyone have a UP style milepost, whistle post and crossing marker available for download?

Thanks,
Chris

"UP style" is very genereal, they use numerous types of mile and whistle posts, in my sub alone there are over five distinct types that are used in an almost random configuration across the Altamont Pass. Search "BNSF50" on the DLS under username, he has modeled a few styles UP uses.

cheers

Thanks, I found exactly what I was looking for. I have all of the grades set and am currently in the process of running the UP Inspection Train up both mains. As long as their are no derailments I will move onto building industries along this half of the route.
