Undec S2 Mod in progress

Been messing around with Gumbytrain's S2. There are many reskins of this unit on the DLS, but there isn't a plain undec unit to start with. There are blank skins, but you had to download a finished unit and see if the blank skins were included.

So far here is the score:

1. Found Ducifer's blank skin for this unit and added it to the mesh to give it a blank skin. A weathered blank skin (Previously done) is also included.

2. Repaired the graphics for the crew in the cab, they are whole again.

3. Converted all of the BMP files to TGA for simplicity.

4. Added an attachment mesh for this unit. With the attachment mesh, I was able to attach El Davo's air hoses and Pweiser's Blunt Alco bogeys from his undec unit. I also converted the loco mesh to .IM format and added the newer TS12 style billboard shadow.

5. I am finishing up adding couplers from the DLS and a newly built coupler pocket.

Then the fun begins, I am working on fixing the "Repaired" engine spec that has had the cab mode cut out of it.

Wish me luck. Once it is complete, off to the DLS it goes.

Hey Chris,

Just wanted to stop and say Thank you for your efforts on updating these Alco S units. I have a real soft spot for the Alco switchers as I grew up in the 80's around them. (My childhood home was a block from the RR) I started my RR career running S2's before moving on to bigger RR's. I think we all know the mesh's are bit outdated in today's high res Sim, but I still run them a lot. So, therefor "Thank You" :wave:

Riverrun you just touched my heart. That unit was on the old shortline by my house, the FP&E. The only thing they changed on the unit was the letters in the logo from FP&E to AC&J. I would love to see both these units in trainz. :udrool: :mop:
