Ulster Project: News on N.Ireland Railways build progress

So far, I am on the last section of the last of the 6 Ulster lines and that to Larne Town and Harbour stations. In fact just north of the halt at Magheramorne however there are a couple of things not sure about and Google and Bing won't solve that for me.When I do get over the water from Glasgow for my long overdue break, I will trip along the Larne Line to get the notes I need so for now have left that and zoomed down to Dublin Trainz-wise. The track is laid south of Newry right to where Dublin should be with Dundalk and Drogheda stations down. Spent a couple of nights sticking down all the tracks crossing the river int Dublin (Connolly) and the other subsidiary tracks before it and a bit of the line to Pears station I think it is. Thought it would keep me ticking over having to be temporarily off that Larne query. Just a pity that I had to cancel my few days in January and lose the damn cost of my flight and hotel due to health but there we are.

Assuming my health is coped with and doesn't deter me from getting away will take the train down to Dublin for a quick look at Connolly. Due to all the extra effort doing the line to Dublin may not be as detailed as the rest of the project which was originally only meant to be the Northern Ireland Railways. Add to that all the considerable scenery required approaching Dublin suburbs, easy to be put off. It took me dashed ages buiding the Belfast-Londonderry and the towns along the way. Will see how far I get with it but as the Howth (DART) suburban and the Tara Mine branches are off the main line, I will feel obliged to try at them too! All told. it is over a year since I have got even a break from my home city here in the centre of the universe at Glasgow and I keep wondering if I will be well enough to take the chance.

Fantastic stuff, I recognised many features of the larne line from having travelled on it many times. I remember travelling through the tunnel at Whitehead before it was closed (about 25 years ago I think.

Clipperstown station in particular is scarily life like.

Very well done.

Thanks for that support clanky. Makes it encouraging to know there are those who appreciate what I am doing from here in Scotland. Interesting that comment about Clipperstown as for some odd reason it stuck in my mind when I got back to Glasgow

Now having done al Ii can do up North and NI railways, I have went back over the Border and thought and thought will I try this or not as this extension will be yet another big challenge. So tonight I started roughly on scenery around Dublin Connolly and around the tracks near it as well as the platforms. Have now extended the line to Pearse Station and some of the tracks at the 2 branch lines off the Northern route south to Dublin. If i find I have bitten off more than I can chew then will conclude with the NIR and of course leave in the tracks to Dublin. But for now I decided to drop in at the deep end with perhaps less scenery.Anyway think I will still get round to flying over to Belfast to take notes from the footbridge at Adelaide Station about the new NIR depot. A day down to Dublin will also be needed. So thanks again for the support.
