Hi all,
i was wondering how to effectively signal in ts2010 for a uk route.
I have looked at many of the tutorials but i have found them very confusing, can anyone help?
thanks,
Toby

Hi Toby,

First question for you is, are you interested in modern image or semaphore signalling days ? second question is, how well do you understand signalling as happens on the prototype ? Knowing the answers would help in giving a more focused response.

Signalling in Trainz often involves a degree of compromise and a lot of trial an error, especially if you are running AI trains. Simple routes are easy to signal but the degree of difficulty increases exponentially with the complexity of the route.

Could not possibly explain everthing in one post, it would take a book (or two), so some more specific questions about what you don't understand would help.

Meanwhile you can find some prototype and tutorial info on the web, here are a few sites to start with:

Prototype

Tutorials

For UK semaphore signals check out these content creators:

francelinetony
chrisaw
bloodnok

honeymonster (older versions, may need some fixing so best left for now).

Some of these are built in or on the DLS, others are from the S&C add on website:

http://www.settleandcarlisle.co.uk/

The signals should be OK without the add on but If you don't have the add on it's well worth the £13 (approx), has lots of extra locos and stock in the pack and more on the website which require the add on for dependancies.

Once you have had a look at the tutorials etc. you will have some questions, feel free to post again in this thread when you do.

Im currently using the Sig BR(W) signals from the S&C website mentioned above. Ive had far few hiccups with them than any of the ones I had previously tired.
