Very nice Greg. And now some WIP shots to get this thread back on page1.

The fictional station of Brockingham North Street is heavily based on 1950's Birmingham New Street. Some elements of the track work had to be changed to allow the station to fit into the scenery.

bns-1.jpg

looking eastwards, with what would been Queens Drive descending down to platform level, dividing the EX LNWR (straight) platforms from the Midland (curved) platforms. On this route Queens drive is named North Street. and the LNWR side, is the joint LMS - LNER platforms while the curved platforms are LNER platforms.

bns-2.jpg

A shot showing the station buildings either side of North Street with Queens hotel just poking out from the bottom left. Navigation street is visible coming in from the right of the shot.

bns-3.jpg

Looking Westwards we can see the goods/fish platforms on the far left with a small turntable and stabling roads in the distance. Navigation street cross the western end of the station diagonally and has North street, Hill street, Summer street and Pinfold street connecting to it. Swallow street is furthest away.

bns-4.jpg

Looking Eastwards, we have North street ascending from platform level to cross over the LNER lines, Worcester street is in the distance with the Eastern end tunnel portals and the 1 in 77 climb out of the station.

bns-5.jpg

Looking westwards with the eastern side portals just visible in the bottom left corner the open access footbridge is seen in the distance accessing all platforms.

bns-6.jpg

Looking Westwards from platform 1, showing Navigation street passing overhead.

bns-7.jpg

Looking eastwards on North Street showing the footbridge crossing over the street. The street is locally known as station drive.

bns-8.jpg

The far eastern end of the station crossing over the canal, with the line then descending down to Brockingham North street station.

31602 pulling a coal train on my preserved line with a connection to the mainline. 31602 is on its way to the mainline connection via a the small branchline.

31602freight2ui3.jpg

She now comes to the steep down hill to the junction

Now on the mainline, she can reach the 70mph limit and off to where the coal is needed.
