UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Great Shots Everyone. Im making the Middleton Railway (Mainline, Freight, Preserved Railway the full works in the middle of england running east to west). Here are three class 141s on the preserved railway, curved, in the morning light. Enjoy:

Nice shots, Davie, David.

This is/was Wirksworth on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway (see my signature for the real thing), but I've my merged it with my Lincolnshire layout. It's now become Kettleby, Lincs. I've mucked about with it a little bit, but not a lot. The station is made up of the LBSCR buildings, which have been lowered into the ground from a two-storey to single storey building. Works quite well, I think. The actual station building no longer exists.

A change of era. A Class 3F passes a mixed bag of two of the Big Four. I wish this was a C12, a favourite of mine. I must ask Rob if he's interested in a commission.

Great shots everyone especially Escafeld. Do you live in the area near Wirksworth by any chance ?

As i've noticed you do a lot of routes based on areas in the East Midlands which is where i live, well Long Eaton to be exact, not far from Toton depot.

Nexus - Bewdley looks fantastic! I've still got the DEM for the preserved SVR with the track laid to the correct gradient profile if you're interested.

I take it the track is a reskin of R3's?

Regards,

Anthony

No, I just went there for a day - http://www.geograph.org.uk/article/Drive-a-Diesel-Train-Experience-Ecclesbourne-Valley-Railway

I live in Old Bolingbroke - http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=22993718

I've done a map of quite a bit of Nottinghamshire including Toton and Long Eaton, purely because my grandparents live in Linby and my grandfather was a signalman at Linby and Newstead.

An O4 Rod passes No.6 Great Northern Cottages, on Church Lane, the home of my grandfather, and the Linby Colliery signal box he once worked. Running parallel with this GN line was the LMS, about 200 yds west. About a mile up the road the Great Central crossed them both on a viaduct. A trainspotter's dream. The LMS line is now the Robin Hood line. The GN and Great Central line are no more, the pit bank has gone and so has Linby Colliery. The six cottages are now surrounded by modern housing. I was there before '47 and saw all the numbers change when the Big Four became British Railways.

The milk was delivered by horse and cart. The lighting was gas. There was no sewage system, everything had to be buried down the allotment garden. The wireless they eventually got ran on accumulator batteries, which were collected every so often to be recharged. When he was in charge of Newstead signal box, he went to work by jumping on board the brake van of a passing train. H&SE wouldn't allow that now.

To the left is a catch point. A breakdown team once had to re-rail a load of coal wagons here.

EDIT - Thanks for the comment :-)

GWR-LMS/BR-MR-BR-WR WIP

Hi Everyone,

Just some *NEW* shots of my WIP of a combined GWR+LMS [Later BR-WR & BR-MR] Route. Here is some shots from the British Railways days...

Personally, I would like to see more GWR engines like 28xx [38xx], Hall Class, & Collet Goods. On the LMS side I would like to see a Jubliee, Fowler 2P on the route.

In that last shot, what is going on with those shadows !!!!!!
Also that hedge has a serious problem, things like this should not be happening in TS12, thought it was supposed to be better than TRS2004 ?
Seems to me that it has more bugs than ever.
