Where can I find ..... ?

Thread idea here.

Not sure if its been done before but seems like it could work.

Mainly because i've just started near from scratch on Ts12 and finding assets on the DLS is a pain. Often because things are named in strange ways or the search doesn't show them.
If possible i'd like this thread to be a community effort where if someone has a certain item in mind but doesn't know if it exists or where to find it they could post here and hopefuly someone will know..

If you're after a specific item, whether it scenery, rolling stock, textures etc, post in this thread and hopefully this great community will know of an item available for Trainz that will fit the role.

I forgot to mention what i'm after.. this may be a steady stream as I know what i'm trying to achieve.

What i'm trying to find/looking for.. Mostly UK railway signage at present.

UK style "STOP LOOK LISTEN" sign, often seen around the UK, i'm sure this asset exists but searches have failed me.

You have used the correct wording in your post, but the author of the original sign was clearly a master at poor English and/or ambiguity.

The wording instantly conjured up an image of large numbers of passengers clambering over the rails, stumbling over ballast and sleepers – and being allowed to do so, provided they did it within close proximity of the bridge. A classic!


Back on topic.

If the signs don't exist as assets, perhaps someone may be able to make them for you. It looks a fairly simple gmax job (something I mastered a couple of years ago - then failed miserably when trying to get the files into Trainz). Some details regarding dimensions and a bit of work squaring up the perspective distortion would be required, but it shouldn't be a big job.

Here’s hoping the appropriate assets come to light one way or the other.

The 'Stop Look Listen' and the Give Way signs have been created by DomSarto and are on the DLS. They're under the titles;

"DS Sign Railway 2A"
"DS Sign Railway 3A"

And mezzoprezzo, that is funny, I did not notice that . It looks like a legit sign, based on an old design if its not an original one.. Maybe its just how they did it back then .

Getting the items created is an option, but these are a few of many many items i've got in mind for my route but may have trouble finding thanks to the DLS. They aren't exactly majorly specific items but ones that fit the role as i'm working on a fictional route, a preserved line, so i'm trying to get the atmosphere right using the correct signage and such
