Hi Trainzers.

I have a small update on my English Southern Coast route. Here is what I think is a very pretty progress shot.

England5.jpg

This view is from the southern end of the town of Bournemouth-on-Sea. (No copyright infringements intended.)
And to think I built this area and made it look nice completely by accident!
I honestly think it's the best accident I've had.:hehe:

More shots soon, and next time there will be planes.... lots of them. You can find some of my shots in the "New Aircraft" thread, here:

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Marvellous! How did you do that bricked-up tunnel portal?

Paul

Hi Paul, funnily enough when I came to build this portal I found that there are NO Brick tunnel portals in Trainz despite searching through several hundred. So, I bodged it up using multiple sections of FMA's UK Viaduct and UK Tunnel Grass Spline above. Finally to brick it up I used a spline of "Brick Wall 25M" inset slightly behind the entrance.
It's interesting to note that the real line was closed to passengers in 1950 and altogether in 1958 but British Rail actually ran SPECIAL TRAINS to repair it in 1957! Thus, although part of the tunnel roof has collapsed inside, the brickwork of the portal is in very good condition.

On the subject of bricked up tunnels and the like, I have found the following site http://www.forgottenrelics.co.uk/tunnels/index.html very useful for both functioning and derelict railway structures. Might be interesting to some of you and it also includes Burdale Tunnel as depicted by lewisner.
