What happened to things called level crossings in your shot Glensthon??

If you need some good ones go to vsr.org (bloodnok's site)

Meyshollop

I'm modifying a route so and I haven't had chance to add level crossings yet.
Oh and nice spelling of my name!

@Glenethson - Where is that track and third rail from?

Search "jaleel", his 3rd rail track is nicely detailed.

Would that be Darlington per chance Isaacg?

Yeah, it's Darlington. I'm not sure if I should go straight upwards to Newcastle, or go over to the Tees' Valley Line.

@Glenethson: I used the lasso tool in PS CS3, surrounding the train(minus the undercarriage and wheel-trucks) and I went to the filter menu > blur menu > and selected motion blur, adjusted the settings, and I got what you see in the post a page over.

I'm working on the Bishop Auckland area (which could ultimately include the lines joinging the ECML at Durham, Ferryhill and Darlington) at the moment, so I'm definitely interested in any progress you make on the edges of that area!

My route is circa 1960 at the moment (which means the lines to Durham, Ferryhill and Barnard Castle are open) , but could easily be "cut back" and updated for 1980-present if you want the post-Beeching look.

That said it's a pretty big area so it might take me a while before I reach Darlington....;)

Oh wow, I was inspired by the Rail Simulator/Works' version of the Darlington-Bishops Auckland route, and I thought i'd give it a spin. I doubt I'd get this route done, mostly because I'm trying to decide whether I should go northward to Newcastle, or B-Auckland. And this one is obviously post-beeching(around the GNER-NXEC era).

It's nice to see such a following for routes in the North East. Apart from builder300544’s Tyne and Wear Metro area I’d almost given up hope. I’m working on the Morpeth area at the moment so I would also be interested in any progress you make on the peripheries, especially if you do decide to make the push towards Newcastle.

I'm another one doing a North East route - the Stainmore line between Barnard Castle and Kirkby Stephen, incl the Middleton-in-Teesdale branch.

Once I get these 30-odd miles done, I suppose I might work along to Bishop Auckland and/or Darlington, that's if my enthusiasm keeps up.

Must admit I'm flagging a bit at the moment though - all those trees and stonewalls are taking their toll....

Rod having to live with these units I wish FTPE would take note of you and make theirs 4 car units as they only have 3 on thier trains :p
No need. The wiring up of the Liverpool - Manchester route will have the side benefit of allowing the Manchester - Edinburgh/Glasgow services to go electric and the 185s will be moved back to the core TPE services.

I know what you mean - I feel like I've been doing scenary around the northern bit of my route (Hunwick/Newfield/Todhills/Byers Green) for months now.

That said, most of that area is pretty much done now so I'm starting to work my way south again. The Spennymoor-Bishop Line is next for landscaping, and once that's done I'll start on the town proper and the area to the south (including Shildon Tunnel and the branch to West Auckland).

I'll get there....eventually. :o

Prototypical routes always take a long time to make, there is so much research needed and alot of work on the route to be done; the landscape, the scenery and the correct track plan. Anyone who works hard needs all the encouragement they can get.
All the best lass!

Hello all again, not been around these parts for a while, going to be doing a little bit of trainzing, i miss it to be honest.
