Here's one from my Stainmore route.....

A SR O1 (pretending to be NER J21) tackling the 1 in 70 across Deepdale Viaduct with some teaks, on it's way to Kirkby Stephen.

Week end at The ole Valley

Great Shots all.
Here are a few from me.

Soon after ariving at Gainsborough A class 90 pased through the passing loop at the station.

Soon after the train I had caught to get to Gainsborough left for Hull.

Got down to Trentfield behined the Lines Class 33 with its funny set of coachs. Next to it is the lines B-17 Welbeck Abbey waiting for it turn on the next train to come into Trentfield.

I then went down to the sheds to see what wasin at this end of the line. On the way down I caught a Glimpse of the lines J50 shunting some stock to make up the display freight.

Having just arrived from the south the lines New K3 is seen here on the turntable. Number 1108 had been hidden at the back of Olemouth sheds for a number of years.

Finally I went and had a look at the lines J39 and dean Goods which being ready for the next train.

1 small thing though. You may want to change the next departure time son the sign into english.

Is that a reskin of peterdhicks' 222?

It's been a little while since I posted anything (been planting trees and cultivating the shrubbery...) but telegraph poles aside I'm getting to the end of the landscaping at the north end of the Durham line now.

Here's a few from that area:

An English Electric type 4 heads south past Rough Lea Colliery.

A Black 5 heads south past the farmer's crossing between Rough Lea and Hunwick. The line to Rough Lea Brickworks can just be seen on the left near the signals.

Looking the other way from the crossing in the picture above. Hunwick goods yard is just visible in the distance.

An English Electric Type 3 on a Carlisle-Eastgate cement waits for the road at Hunwick while a DMU heads north with a Durham service.

Looking the other way from the signal box, a Deltic passes through with a diverted ECML express (a reasonably regular Sunday occurance on the line until it finally closed to freight in 1968) while a Brush Type 2 waits in the sidings.

Beware of the flowers!

The line on the left of the picture is the branch from Hunwick goods yard to Newfield brickworks, which originally went on to link with the NER Todhills branch (notable for its 1 in 16 rope worked incline from the banks of the river Weir to the summit at Toddhills itself).

Next up: Burnhouse Junction and the Toddhills branch. :)

Nice work durhamlass

Try keeping the track between these two spline points straight by using the straighten tool and then lastly, attach from it to the centre rail. You may need to apply the straighten tool again after you've done that.

The departure times are apart of the texture, and this isn't a reskin - the 222s have just recently been released on the DLS. It's available in the East Midlands Trains, First Hull Trains and EMT Midland Mainline liveries

Nice work durhamlass

Try keeping the track between these two spline points straight by using the straighten tool and then lastly, attach from it to the centre rail. You may need to apply the straighten tool again after you've done that.

Thanks for the advice Dave! I've a whole pile of trackwork/signalling tweaks still to do, but I'm getting there.

The really daunting thing about this route is the sheer volume of scenery involved (compare this map of the area I'm working on at the moment with this one of the whole route and you'll see it could take a while...).

I'm getting faster at working my way through it, but it's still a very slow process. :sleep:
 
durhamlass - I know what you mean. This is a route I'm working on and shows the baseboards overlaid on it. I haven't bothered to count the boards the track covers yet.

Yes, scenery, tell me about it! That route is looking very good and congraters must be in order.
It may only be spline points that are slightly askew, even a small distance out of perfect alignment can cause chaos. But they are minor things and as you say, tweaking is in the pipleline. And I am not one to shout about track laying having made bloomers myself. It's not easy getting it perfect but so satisfying when it looks nice and straight and in line. It's probably easier to get that in the real world than in Trainz!

Keep up the good work, well done.

I'm not offering criticism, just advice. I've found out, in the past, that not getting the trackwork right before everything else, can sometimes undo a lot of things. Platforms, fences, OHLE, signalling etc have to be moved, scenery realigned, textures moved to one side and so on. Get the trackwork right and avoid disruption later on. Making sure your trains run smoothly is priority.

Based on Horncastle's former station, which in reality is not an industrial area, but agricultural.

(if anyone's wondering what the really wiggly bits are in the bottom right hand corner they're track splines being used to dig riverbeds. Those areas haven't been landscaped yet).

Not at all; it's simply that I've been concentrating on the landscaping in that area recently (god knows it needed it!) and didn't want to get diverted too much. A little while ago I also made some mods to the trackwork around Rough Lea and Hunwick after taking another look at maps from the period (including adding the single-slip you noticed...) which I haven't finished finetuning yet.

Now that the landscaping around the Durham line, Newfield and Toddhills is pretty much done, I'm planning to revsit the trackwork and signallng in the area before I move onto the Spennymoor branch and landscaping Auckland Park. So your advice is timely and appreciated. :)

Sooner or later I'm going to have to get to grips with GMax/Blender, which will be another time-sink no doubt! :eek:

The 22s are peterhicks'.
The platform departure sign is from Eldwane and only the destination can be changed, the lower part is the texture and is in French; 2 minute reskin jobby to turn into English.

Awesome nonetheless! Great trackwork, great scenery, great atmosphere.
I have to agree, there is nothing worst than driving on a good route and your carriage being chucked all over the place because of misaligned vertices. That an never forgetting to put barriers or wall along the trackbed is primordial!

Those can be got on the DLS search EPB under rooling stock. they come in a number of liverys.

These paticular once in the screen shoots are once that I have used to create something as close as I can get to a Ex-SR Push pull set.

I hope this helps.
