There is no need to straighten a piece of track attached to a straightened track if there is a change of direction. Colhad must have put two attached straightened tracks, either side of the middle point. Scenery points represent a large amount of fail. There is no need for any gauge to do this and Colhad did an excellent job, it looks very good now.
I meant around tricky areas such as ladder yards it helps to use scenery points and straighteners to stop distortion instead of straightening and using default turnoffs
