UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

:udrool: Where did you get those signals from Overmars (in your last set of shots)?

Macwilly, have a look on the DLS for "java23".

I must also ask the same question of Harcourt... haven't seen those nice semaphores before either. And can anybody tell me what the white "shield" behind the signal arm is for... is that a visibility type thing?

Great shots guys... really loving this thread ;)

Cheers - Brian

Shamrock, the white shield behind the signal arm is called a "Sighting Board" and as you guessed is used in conditions of poor visibility such as where the signal is next to a bridge.....

I'm pretty sure those Great Western Lower Quadrant signals are included in the Train Driver (West Somerset Railway) stand alone sim available from...................

I think you're right about the visibility thing too unless anyone knows otherwise.

Cheers

Here's a photo of the signal in it's real location, but from the rear side. Hopefully it'll give you some clue as to the reason for the extra board. No bridges, but I guess the line of sight of the driver passes through the signal to the signal box.

Somewhere I'm sure I have a better photo (from the other side), showing just how useful this board is.

Is the station in the picture Blue Anchor on the West Somerset Railway

Yes, it's on the Dunster side. I actually visited the caravan site on the other side of the station loads of times, and there's a path alongside the railway for a short distance next to the beach.

Anyway, I couldn't find an electronic copy of the photo I meant (must be on film somewhere), so I went into Trainz and took one:

It appears to be the trees, rather than the station itself that are causing the problem. Red signal on green/brown vegitation.

By the way, this is another place I'd recommend visiting - especially since trains pass here once every hour on the gold timetable.

I'm considering whether I want to put the WSR content onto my 06, but of course I would lose all of my 63.5 hours playing it!

I can't seem to do be able to install it, every time I do, I get an error messgae, just as it is is 'registering with TRS2006' anyone have this problem?

Have you uninstalled it completely first? It says in the manual that you can't install both the standalone and into TRS06 at the same time (though for some reason you can install it into TRS04).

How can a make these look more desolate and moorish? I know textures aren't my strongpoint (that's why I put them off), but I think I need darker grasses and heathers - what do people think? Is there a really good backdrop that would hide the lack of depth too?

You should be able to do it through Add/Remove programs, found in the control panel. Look for an item marked "Train Driver", and click "change/remove", then he computer will do the rest (it's on page 5 of the manual, if you need a reference).

After you've done that, reinsert the Train Driver disk, and follow the instructions again, but for TRS06.
