UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Now that Hastings - Brighton is complete, I've now got to work on the doomed Lewes - London line... Here's a W.I.P Cooksbridge

Ahhhh, my favourite loco, who would have guessed.......LOL

40129 continues its freight working, after a crew change, from York Dringhouses Yard under Holgate Road Bridge and round the curve on a northbound block tanker train. Thanks to NexusDJ for the reskinned BOC tanks, they're excellent.

My last screenshot of this layout. I introduced some Russian content, which has locked me out of the route and crashes the program. I can't be bothered trying to sort out the mess and will not use Trainz again until I've upgraded to Windows 7. Vista 64-bit has never been compatible with TRS2004, as far as I'm concerned. Will I buy TRS2010 or 2012? I don't know, it depends on how others are getting on with them.

Same thing has happened to me in 2004 with some simple (though pleasure) russian tree models. No problem Dave - I suggest you to change to a new Trainz version. You will like TS2010 under Win7 (64b), I'm sure.

Using 2012 here, only downside with it a the moment is the small anoying bugs with the latest patch, that being animated controls in cabs not working and ambient steam loco sounds not working. Other than that I think its a further improvement over 2010.

Thanks for your input, vendel and LieLestoSbrat.

Interestingly, an earlier crash with Russian content was with their bare-leafed trees. I deleted the trees and the layout worked again. The problem now is identifying the problem content from the mass of content I downloaded, there's just too much of it. Some of it was a repeat of what I already had, or thought I had, but you know what it's like, everything gets muddled in your mindset with everything you see and you can't remember what you already have and what you don't have. Deleting Russian content would leave some very bare patches.

I have TS12 Dave, but, have so many texture problems and other CMP queries that I'd not experienced before, I was left scratching my head on many occassion. I noted that even though N3V did state that they've obsoleted many old textures, that equates to not being able to run 2/3rds of my PAYWARE content (British, European and American ), from purchases going back to 2006/7, that has left me less than happy. I operate XP 32 bit, so, can't offer any advice on Windows 7 64 bit or otherwise, so, I can only suggest you do a lot of reading on the many threads on this forum. I consider TS12 to be for the multiplayers, it's quite a stable product in that regard, but, has more than enough texture and other errors, so, I've reverted back to TRS2010 for the time being, and as that has compatability mode, at least I can operate my old stuff without having to spend hours repairing it first, or, not utilising it at all.
Pity really, because I thought the built-in TS12 Chinese and Russian routes and rolling stock were fabulous.

Thanks, ex-railwayman, that's very interesting. I can't be bothered creating routes anymore and seeing them go to waste. I've got better things to spend my time on.

Get rid of the speed crap and it will be fantastic :)

Nexusdj, you should get a medal for these screenshots. What route is this though? It looks very impressive from this angle. Or is it one of your WIPs?
Eric:)

Nexus will we ever see your class 172 on the DLS?

Yes you will when it's finished . I built the non driving coach yesterday (on left in shot) but both are still running about with 185 engine meshes underneath . I need to go out and get some more photo's of the underframe parts but it's getting the information as to current whereabouts of the class 172's on test as none of them are currently in passenger use .

I've have now been given a couple of future diagrams so that should sort out the location problem . Then all I need to do is build the rest of the meshes and texture them up .

So seeing as your pushing me to release them then : I'll take it you'll forfeit any ability to criticise any errors with the shells on the basis that I've had to rush them out to keep you happy ? ;)

Thanks , It's on a huge route I'm building for my son which uses a lot of my own routes connected together (unrealistically) so I doubt the route itself will be released , But I'm currently toying with the idea that the station (and it's surrounding area) in the screenshot may end up in part of an extension to the Midshire route .

Thanks to warbo40 for his reskinned GBRf Class 66's, and to Greeni and TMZ06003 for the Polybulk wagons.

Just a few off ECML, a Grain working from Selby Loop to Dringhouses.
