UK Bridges...

Dreadnought1

Dinsdale???!!!
Folks,
Any suggestions for UK bridges (1 & 2 track) that will change to adjacent track type? Most I've found so far use default track (and there's much better tracks now available).

I know I could modify existing bridges but for the sake of uniformity, I'd prefer to run with existing types...

Any suggestions??
Cheers,

This line in the config file controlls weather track will change to whatever is attached to it: useajoiningtracktype 0 (or) 1

If set to 1 (or the line isn't there) it will change. If set to 0 it will not.

Bridges have two deck structures - solid (you can't see the water between the ties) and open (you can see the water between the ties). If solid just about any type and gauge can be used. If open, rail only track (no ties and ballast) or specially made bridge track (rails and ties but no ballast) should be used.

Moveable bridges use fake track. Trains actually cross on invisible track and the useadjoiningtracktype value must be set to 0.

Hope this helps.

Ben

I've noticed that the default track is actually quite narrow compared to many others, so if you place the bridge slightly lower than it needs to be you can simply run a second track straight over the top and the default one fits underneath nicely without showing, although I realise this isn't possible if you have tracks without ballast (as Bendorsey was hinting at as a sensible choice).

Incidentally, the Starucca viaduct looks really nice in some UK situations - it's one I commonly use with VMD tracks over the top.
