Does anyone want to climb aboard the #12 and head to the East Tenn & Western North Carolina Shops. I have got most of the 12 done and plan on building a fleet of Tweetsie Locos, Stock, Buildings, Track, & Scenery. Would anyone like to join. That is what I have done so far on the #12.
Thanks
Dusten

Wow, that looks real nice! I don't know if I would want to join though, I'm not real good with GMAX.

Looking Great.

Does ET&WNC mean - - - "Exquisite Trains and What Nice Conductors" or "Eat Taters & Wear No Clothes".

Ben:hehe:

Thats right, the Eat Tatters & Wear No Cloths RR. The line ran from Elizibethton Tenn to Boone NC, It had the nicest crew abord, During the depression era, the conducters would let people ride for free. In 1950 Narrow gauge stopped completly, 10 and 14 were destroyed in Alaska when the WPY shops burnt down in the 40s, #11 was scrapped in 1952 and Gene Autry bought the #12 for around 40,000$ and sold the 12 to mayor Robbins in Boone for 1$, and now it is operating at Tweetise Railroad in Blowing Rock NC as NC oldest Wild West Theme park. I have blue prints for these 10-wheelers, and I can get alot of prints. I am not really looking for just builders, Im also looking for scripters, animaters; I can animate the wheels it is just the side rods that are putting the horse down, and I am looking for painters. I want to work as a team and not a single player. So climb aboard if you are intersted. I am open to any suggestions that you want to do.

Hi Dusten:

I've never made a loco so I can't help much there. I started one about 4 months ago but all I have is drivers and half the frame. The prospect for progress does not look good.

I have been known to make bridges and trestles for folks now and then, lol.

To me the most interesting loco the ET&WNC had was #7. A 3 ft gauge 0-8-0 with slope back tender built by Brooks in 1906. The book Extra South by H. Reid has a picture of it on page 56.

Good luck with your project.

Ben

Took me about 1 day to do all that u see up there. The ET&WNC #7 as the worlds largest NG Steam engine up untill the DRGW got the K-36s. I plan on building the goat and other engines. What Loco are you working on, I could probably help you out on it. I can't promiss animation but I can make the frame and stuff. Could you help me make the bridges for the ET&WNC, that is if you do not mind.

I was working on a little industrial 0-4-0T. I know better then to say "I just got gmax and have started on a 2-8-8-8-8-8-8-2". I've done animation but not on a loco so I have some idea as to what to do and there are tutorials. Thanks for offer of help but I can figure it out eventually (I have an extreme tendency to get diverted by every bridge and trestle in the world, lol). I keep it as something to take my mind off whatever I'm working on when I get stuck. Lets the old subconcious mind work on the problem. Usually works too.

Sure, I'll be glad to make some bridges and trestles for you. Extra South shows 2 pics of the Valley Forge Bridge but neither shows the complete structure. I'd need more info and pics to make it. I'm sure there were short trestles too but my testle kit might suffice to make those.

Oddly enough, after the thread on the fire, I started the current route.

Tweetsie Station. Everything here is really a place holder while I find better stuff. Tweetsie Junction is on the rise ahead. The shops are behind us on the right, and Country Fair is to the right.

Tweetsie Trestle, heading toward Frontier Outpost. After passing the lake, it's a 5% grade. Ouch.
The cars are East Broad Top cars off the DLS. Very cool.

Should I hold off completion until someone makes some buildings?

 Claude

Wow taht looks good, but you do know that there was a Fire at tweetsie and it destroyed the old ET&WNC Depot/Musume that was there. You want have to worry about using those EBT coaches when all building of the ET&WNC stuff is done. Your route needs more short leaf pine, and a variety of hard wood. I can give you a link that will show a lot of pics from the ET&WNC of every thing.

Thanks, that should be useful. I thought I had that in the Favorites, but I guess not.
I'll have to see if I can find enough info to DEM the original line.

Can anyone help me out on the Wheels, I need help on the side rods. I need help animating it.
Thanks

Talk to one of the more experienced creators who have created steam like prowler901 or tbryson2. I'm sure they would like to help in your animation attempts.

East Coast Trainz wouldn't mind you bringing the Tweetsie project over there. I'd have more Tweetsie stuff if I had the drawings.

I've been looking for some Tweetsie content. I really need some. Are you also making the #190?

Tyler

I might make the Yukon Queen, but not for sure, I would not mind making her. Are you just looking for Tweetsie or ET&WNC content? I do need some pictures of the fireman's side of the locomotive. Right now me and a friend are fixing up the mesh, adding more detail, But we need to first get the thing rolling. Animation is tuff.
