TUME’s Simulation of “The Milwaukee Road”

Tume,

Greatly enjoying your route in 2010 - many thanks for the efforts you have made to produce something so good.:)

Bob

Hallo,

thank you very much for your nice compliment. Its really great to see that people likes my work. I wish I could have done something any better – for example more plants, bushes or grass and so on. But I could not implement too much at TRS2006 and the time for the changeover to TS2010 was just to less for major additions at any corner of the large route.

So I wish a happy new year to all of you and have much fun playing with the route. Also it is my intention to provide a little general knowledge about the Milwaukee Road along with the route. So I created a little “Brief History” chapter inside the session intro. Great thanks to Auran for keeping this chapter at the intro and for the little improvements of the text – English is not my first language.
So if people would get a bit more interested in RR's history because of this, I would be glad.

:)

Have a nice day.

Out of curiosity, was the rolling stock (locomotives, cars) released with 2010 as well? If so I would assume it won't be released on the DLS, am I correct?

Hallo,

because of the cars and the rolling stock, I posted something at the „TS2010 Screenshot“ thread:

Hallo,

during the last days, some questions came up about locos and rolling stock for TS2010.

Just watch the following slideshow, to see all of the locos and rolling stock for the Milwaukee Road Avery – Drexel Route at TS2010.
Note! The Wood-Chip-Car and the Cabooses are reskins. This was necessary to get a new version of the cars, including other bogeys as well as to resolve some content warnings at CMP.

I will have to discuss the possibility about releasing some TS2010 built in content at the DLS with Auran. I have signed a NDA. But as I wrote several times before, the route itself performs not too good at TRS2006, because of its limits about texture and object handling – the route is just to large for it, as it contains over 800 different objects. Just TS2009 and especially TS2010 provides the required support to run that route nicely. Especially the EF4 electrics in the way I created it, can only be used at the Milwaukee Road, to be historically right. The use at other RR's would need major mesh and texture changing. But I will create some more versions of this locos later on.

Okay thanks. I was mostly wondering about the locomotives (electrics, diesel, and steam) so that answers my question.

Happy new year:wave:

Tume,
Your Milwaukee Road Content is amazing!! I think it is great that some GREAT looking Milwaukee Road content has been made. Thank you Tume.

Hallo,

thank you very much for your nice words. I have posted something at the thread “TS2010 screenshots”, but may you have a look to it here also. The content is not just about the locos and the rolling stock. The most I did during the last three years was creating the route and the needed objects for it. This includes hundreds of items for tracks, roads, rivers, buildings bridges, tunnels and ground textures. Now it all became built in content at TS2010.
May you have a little impression about the TS2010 Milwaukee Road Avery – Drexel route by watching this video:

I found your Milwaukee Road Hiawatha Content on the DLS and it all looks amazing. I like the second version paint job of all the coaches because it looks like what the restored stock pulled behind Milwaukee Road 261 in 2009. I've liked the S-3 4-8-4 since you posted the video of the S-3. put them together in a train and you have the Milwaukee Road 261 2009 consist. And from the pictures of the route you posted it looks SUPER AMAZING!!

You are correct that the 261 did not run in 2009 but the coaches also had their current paintjob in 2008 before the filming of Public Enemy's with Johhny Depp. And yes the 4449 did run here in the Twin Cities instead of 261 but, it was on it's way back to Portland, OR and was only here for a few days, AND it used the 261's coaches.

If you look it has 2 Milwaukee Road 261 coaches behind the Diesel locomotive.

good job my pic of the daylight is the second time I seen the daylight the first time the train did a stop in La Cross, WI BNSF yard then the my pic is in Just south of Wabash, MN for the 261 fall colors

The real 261 may have some hope for coming back to the rails again.
News from Trains Mag the Green Bay Museum sold the 261 4-8-4 to whom is sill unknown but this may have some hope the 261 can run again

This are good news. I hope the 261 will continue in active Service for heritage Trains.

Just because of this, here comes my Video about the 4-8-4 S3 Northern again.

What issue of Trains mag said that? The latest I heard of it is that the museum in Green Bay said they would try to find someone that is willing to buy the wonderful loco.

Oh. I see. I rarely check the website. I found out on the forums linked to the homepage of 261.com that it was sold to a collector in California and he MAY lease it to the friends.

Hallo rwk,

now I want to take time to respond about your reskin intensions.
It’s a nice compliment, that you consider my cars as dignified to create reskins from it.

As far as I can see the quality of your texture work from your screen shots, I think the cars would provide a good performance in the “After Milwaukee Road livery”. And I hope people will like it too. So yes, you have the permission to reskin this Super Dome Cars :-)

Just, I would ask you to mention me as the original creator of the cars in the description and in the car’s user name.

By myself, I am thinking about redesigning the whole car set. I would like to add animated doors and night mode for even a better performance. But this will take a while ;-)

I am looking forward to see your reskins at DLS. It would be nice, if you could send me a note, after releasing.

:)

Hey TUME,
Just a suggestion, but, when you go to redesign the Hiawatha coaches, may you think of redesigning the Skytop lounge to be of the "Rapids" series of Skytop lounges of the Twin Cities Hiawatha?
