That video from above shows exactly how sturdy railcars are as compared to airplanes. One thing that I think is missing from this thread is which trains are actually missing: the souuuper high speed standard gauge Shinkansen, or the slower, smaller 42" gauge trains?

Yeah, though one of the cars is pretty twisted up. This is just horrible beyond words. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Japanese people.

Most of those cars in the clip are somewhat intact but then there is that one that was bend and ripped open. Quite scary what a wall of water (and earthquake) can do.
