TS2009 Weather Button

Hello everybody,

I have a unique situation that I need some help with. I have an austisti son who loves playing with TS2009. He is asking me to fix something in the software that I can't figure out. He claims while in quick drive at the top of the screen there used to be a button labeled weather. I found what he is talking about in surveyor mode under the main menu "Edit Enviroment". How do I get this back?

Hi wtokich,

In the top right hand corner of the screen when in driver mode you should have a hand icon, plus sign and a question mark. Click on the hand icon which should open a menu in which you will find 'Quick drive', which if you click on will open the 'Quick drive' dialogue box. From here you can change the weather.

Hopefully this is what your son is looking for?

Thank you for your reply, your directions were accurate but this isn't what he is looking for. Now he says it is in Surveyor, any suggestions?

OK, how about this. In surveyor click 'menu' in the top left hand corner then go to 'Edit session'. In the dialogue box that opens click on 'Add' and then in the top field type 'Weather' . This will find the weather rule, click 'weather' in the list and then click the tick to add it to your route. You can now go and change the weather within this rule by clicking the 'Edit' button. To access it from in surveyor click Menu again and it will appear as one of your session rules.

I don't know what happened but he hand icon is missing and has been replaced by the chat icon. How do I get the hand icon to com back?

Hmm, not sure as I always have the hand icon. I don't have the chat add-on enabled though so this may be why. To disable chat, launch the game and from the Main Menu in the top left hand corner click on 'options' . A dialogue box will open and in the left hand side pane go towards the bottom of the list and look for 'Global Interface Add-ons'. Click on this and in the right hand side pane you will see 'TS2009 iTrainz Chat Interface', take the tick out of the box to the left if this is ticked as enabled. Click the tick mark at the bottom right of the dialogue box and the 'x' to exit. You can then check to see if the chat icon is now a hand icon again.

So the answer is in edit session "Quick Drive" was not selected. When we tried another session the hand icon was there. Thanks for all your help!
