TS13

Ooh you show off :hehe:.
That's something I can only dream about, the kids would love it but the wife would kill me if I blew our money on a TV that size.
Nice :udrool: .

Hi Deano5

When you do get opportunity to buy a big screen tv you won't find a Brittish make, fortunately they don't do tv's because they will all be leaking oil all over the carpets.:D

I figure the next version of Trainz was gonna be called TS14. Primarily since TS12 was released in 2011. Plus, even numbers sound better. :D

Why would any one be concerned about 2013 yet? If you are short of interest, go the the DLS and get some more content 2012. There is plenty there. 2012 still has a few problems as you will see if you read this forum but there are a lot of good routes available for 2012 let alone worry about 2013. Its too early. Fix the 2012 issues first. Even some of the good Euro routes can not run in native mode in 2010 let alone 2012 so stop dreaming. there is a long way to go with quality and creators still need to catch up. N3V need to concentrate on getting 12 right and selling good quality stand alone routes and sessions sessions for 12, before they burden us with a later edition, and Im sure that there a possiblely good routes around or in development that they could sell us as well. The Donner Pass, while not an N3v route is still comming but there should be others that N3V can pick up on and retail to us. They need to sell us new content to stay in business, and we need them to stay in business, but there needs to be a quantum change in any 2013 if its offered.
I would be, because N3V has a life line of support that they will be providing for Trainz products. This kind of pisses me off, because as soon as I get the newest game, in about a year it will be out of N3V support. What don't they just release updates for the current versions that will support newest content from creators, new maps or just new idea that N3V has in mind. I still use 2006 and I am constantly asking questions about what will all the newer games support, and I must say that in my opinion I think TRS 2006 is the best game.

TS2010 with the S&C 2009 installed is probably still the definitive version of Trainz. (Final build of TRS2006 being a close runner up). I tried TS12, but have now reverted back to the earlier version as there is just too much stuff won't run or appear without compatability mode which is still of use to me. I figure TS2010 still has a couple of years left on the lifecycle policy at which point (hopefully), N3V will have drawn a line under the current iterations of Trainz and brought out an all new programme. :) :) :hehe::hehe:

Yes, and I still have TRS2006 on my other old squeaky computer. -Robert-:p

Cool steamrodder , I am not feeling so bad any more about liking TR2006...seems like there are many guys who enjoy it still - I hope it will stay around and be supported ( if this is the correct term to use ) for a looooong time still.

Bad idea at this stage for TS13 or TS14, more users are only using TS2009 TS2010 or TS12 for stability. People will not upgrade so quickly bad thread to post, This will be looked into, for the future.

I have seen Trainz improved and Multiplayer put in but CMP having problems connecting from time to time, this is also bad for users having a first class ticket as well when they can not connect.

yours

Matthew :D

Plus a lot of people a very superstitious about the number 13.

If we all stuck to our old versions then there would be no more Trainz anything. Where do you think the revenues come from in such a small venture? These guys are not running a charity, they have bills to pay like the rest of us. :p
...
Oil over the carpets...hmmm...still don't get it?

A joke :) Things made in Great Brittain are good, but they all leak oil , especially bikes and cars - like my Sunbeam Rapier. So here there is a saying that they stopped manufacturing tv's because people were complaining about the oil on their carpets .

I own 2 copies of 12, but I only play 2010. There is nothing in 12 that interests me, I tried multiplayer and building in MP, but it sucks being stuck with DLS items. It sucks knowing that so much good stuff is out there, but not being able to use it. MP also needs a dedicated .exe so that it could be set up on a dedicated server, this would possibly help out on some of the latency issues.

I agree mouse84. I too own TS12 but decided to go back to Ts2010. But my main reason for going back to 2010 from 2012 is the reason that Merging routes is Faulty and i cant work on Routes as modular.

It has been a very long time since N3V last released hot fixes for ts2010 and 12 and its now september, and i cant help but to wonder is N3V ok are things going to Move Foward with trainz?. This has Crossed my mind lately after one of my most anticipated new Microsoft Simulator "MS FLIGHT" went under. Ive read all of this thread and most of you are suggesting N3V is in a Sort of Inconito, "or" Working behind the scenes and are very optimistic that all is good with our loved Trainz. But what are these mobile Releases of trainz Driver all About?, From the Advertising on N3V,s page Suggest that these new platforms of trainz is Extreemly popular dispite there 99 Cent Pricing. I havent Purchased a Mobile Copy of Trainz as Mobile gaming doesent interest me but i am Curiouse?. I would love to hear everones thaughts on what ive said as this N3V Silence is unusual and the Official announcement thread is worriesom Gathering Cob Webs?

The money is in the mobile gaming market. Running a train on a telephone may be appealing to a few but doubtful if thousands will go for it, or for $0.99 stay with it.

I think what concerns me is that I read so many posts where people are running versions of trains that are nearing a decade old and they cite the expense of upgrading as one of the reasons that they don't upgrade to the present version. A cheap dinner costs almost as much as the latest version of Trainz , and you could get 100's if not thousands of hours of entertainment out of Trainz. How is a company going to survive if it's customers are going to be reluctant to spend a few dollars once in awhile to support them. When in Flight sims, I have spent more on one 3rd party aircraft, than the price of TS12. Probably Auran is figuring that to get 99 cents from some of the members of the huge tablet and smart phone community is alot better than getting absolutely nothing from a large percentage of the train sim community, where many of it's members don't want to spend anything.

I agree with you in principle.
When there is freeware available that I want or need I gratefully dl it, if it is not what I need or want, I buy it, if I cannot buy it immediately I make a plan to get it and miss one or two of those dinners you mention .What also helps is to have a son that upgrades regularly then I get his still reasonably new old stuff, but I guess not everyone is that lucky.
There is plenty advice in the forum of what and where to buy or get free to keep the game running smoothly too.
There are always gripes from customers, some with and some without grounds and I have learned to read properly first before posting , I hope.
I do not mind supporting N3V and all the guys who make trainz so enjoyable.

I think we don't need a new version of Trainz , only a big service pack (+1GB ) that will fix the issues , upgrade the graphics engine etc .

You would be amazed at what people will spend $0.99 for on an iPhone or iPad. It would not surprise me to learn that there are more users of the apps than PC users.

The industry feeling is that Desktop PCs are going to e a thing of the past within the next few years and most consumers will turn to Tablets for the computing. Some of the new Tablets like the Galaxy Nexus are even giving the iPad a run for it's money, and at about 1/2 the cost of an iPad.

Here is what i believe the problem is to a more advanced Trainz PC software game, that would be the amount of people who have older PC's, here i think was the problem with Trainz, 2004 2006 no longer being supported and not to mention the cost to Auran at that time to maintain the older version's while trying to keep verybody else happy with the newer version's.

If they brought out a TS13 or 14 would that mean there would be no support for Trainz World Builder 2009? Maybe if they kept supporting 2009 a small charge per year could warrent that support, now that would not make people happy would it ? Times change and times move on, you get noting for nothing these days you have to change with the times or get left behind.

I think that most people out there can buy or update there PC from time to time but are to tiet to do so because they are set in there old ways,

So N3V has to pick the right point in time to bring a new version the the consumer and who knows when that will be, it is up to them they see what there sales are in all areas we don't.

and if you think that there not working on a new TS future then you to look at common ceanse and stop living in a dream world.

At times i can be very critical and out spoken towards Auran/N3V but i call things as they are and always have and if i am wrong and it is made known to me i will state that i am wrong and say sorry.
There are curtain things that people must understand and that is that at the end of the day N3V must make money and your on going support through buying there products and renewing fct from year to year insures that.
