Hi All,
I am sure there any many of you wanting to know the release date and price for the standard edition of TS12, right?

Well I think I may have the answers for you - well, if you are in Australia anyway!

I just went onto Game.com.au and searched for Trainz, and guess what? TS12 is listed on their website with an April 21 release date, and a cost of $49.95! Now I have used these guys before and they are fairly reliable with their information! Link below if you want to check it out.

http://www.game.com.au/trainz-simulator-12/pc-games/106445

If you don't trust the information on game.com.au then how about Gamesmarket.com.au - they have the same release date, and it is only $43.95 with free postage from them.

Still not satisfied? How about Aussiegamer.com.au - their price $47.00. Or dvdorchard.com.au for $43.95.

Hope this puts a smile on your face :hehe:

Hi Guys.

That makes it about £32.20p (AU$ 49.95) in GBP. (from Coinmill.com)

About normal price then.

Regards.

My normally suspicious mind and exceptionally shallow pockets both say no, but I will go for it, the price doesn't seem to bad.
I wonder what the required system specs are, hopefully it might say no laptops then the younger ones dont waste their time and money.

I wonder what the required system specs are

Minimum
  • Windows XP (with Service Pack 3)
  • 2GB RAM
  • Pentium D 3.4GHz (or equivalent)
  • nVidia GeForce 7200 / 128MB (or equivalent)
  • 15GB free hard drive space
Under this configuration, it is expected that the game will successfully run all included routes. Frame rate will vary substantially and will be considered poor (barely playable) in the most dense areas. It is expected that the user will lower the screen resolution, draw distance, and other quality options.

Recommended
  • Windows Vista / Windows 7 (64 bit)
  • 2GB RAM
  • Core 2 Duo (or equivalent)
  • nVidia GeForce 8600 (or equivalent)
  • 15GB free hard drive space
Under this configuration, it is expected that the game will perform acceptably in all areas. It is expected that the user will use a moderate-to-high screen resolution and draw distance.

Well Ed, looking at the minimum specs. Not a chance, be like stirring chocolate in your factory.
Recommended specs, at least it says 64 bit system. The ram should be 4g, what core-duo, 2.5 ghz at a minmum. and the graphics cards a shade low as well.
Even with the above I wouldn't build my hopes up to much.
Will it use more than 2 cores on a cpu would be good to know.

:hehe: Even not-so-freakish collectors like me could do that sensible price!

But my dusting shelves will be the final 'incompatible' judges... as always!

Anyway, what's one more station in the lives of these ones?...

Pre-ordered my copy

Just pre-ordered my copy from my local Game store - I had a Wii game I no longer play so traded it it, so TS12 will only cost me $12.95! Not too bad :hehe:

It looks like I can swing it, just have to upgrade my OS before I decide to purchase...

I'm gonna wait for Auran to release it, so all (Or nearly all) profit goes to N3V3RFA1L/Auran

Can I ask, if you have TS2009 as your newest version, you have a little red line, next to the 'station' on the left of it, while TS2010 is a terminus. If I keep with '10, does that mean I'll no longer have a terminus

Ed, shouldn't your sig have a Mr Wonka, or whatever your Whacky and extremely humerous sense of humour can come up with??:hehe:

Yeah, I think if you don't get the latest version, you don't get a terminus. Probably a subconscious reminder that your retail journey is not over. Mr. Wonka is absent as to not offend gentle members who may protest the Depp version or the Wilder version, respectively. It doesn't take much to incite a flame war around these parts...:o

question

does anyone know if there is gonna be a pre orders for the standard edition when the time gets closer to the release date;)

I'm guessing they won't announce anything on here until they have had a substantial amount of orders for the collectors edition. We just have to be patient...........

Something that seems to be a rare occurrence on here...... :hehe:

Just for some, Malc, a few ones. :hehe: Many of us have nothing to do in life than expecting the release of Trainz 12 at the entrance hall of the Brisbane headquarters as if we were a freakish bunch of iPad2 hunters. Shoot, shoot, shot down. :D:p

"I'm on my way", as good late Alastair would say again. "This time I'm going there on my bike", Alberte's alterego would add up. ;) "Expect me there after some petrol[gas for the New World] refills".

The slightly freakish side of Alberte

My two cents is as follows.

Assuming that Auran, or N3V, or whoever, would not omit mention of a major new feature or benefit when trying to sell their 10th Anniversary Editions, the only one of these that seems to be present is the online multiplayer. But their pitch is clear that it comes at the cost of compatibility mode. The rest of what is there seems to be incremental improvement. Welcome as that is, I don't see it as justifying rushing to get a copy.

I think I'll wait for a while and stick with 2010, which I'm still trying to figure out anyway, and pick it up later.

Sorry, Alberte.

I have to agree...there is nothing that makes me salivate over 2012. New does not necessarily mean improved (anyone who has played Madden over the years should know what I'm talking about).

And you guys are impressed with the affordable price, but you should probably also factor in the added cost of a FCT. Auran still touts "free downloadable content", but I think most of us know that feature is a joke--and not a funny one at that. Enough threads have surfaced on "server full" and "download link unavailable" messages, we need not address that here. But Auran needs to quit marketing that as a key feature, and I imagine a lot of newbies who got into Trainz over this past holiday season are disillusioned and bitter over this. I know I would be.

And speaking of content, there isn't even a whole lot that's been created for 2009/2010. Which is probably why compatibility mode is important to so many people. There is WAY too much for 04/06 that has not (and probably won't be) updated that is too good to not use. The third-party sites have even less 09/10 content. I find it hard to get excited about 2012 when the last two versions have not generated anywhere the custom content of the PREVIOUS two versions, not even close.

Auran still touts "free downloadable content"

Hi guy,

;) I have already typed many times -a few read it :hehe:- that N3VrF41l should have to revise this kind of ads on their websites or boxed versions, even the localized ones, because the only thing this is yielding is angered posts from disappointed newbies who think that "free is free" and not "free if"... or "more free if..."

We all know how marketing practice works -with small letters clauses-, but in this case I'm afraid huge letters should be more sensible to avoid iterative "do you have an FCT?" responses to iterative "what the hell happens to the DLS" posts. :hehe:

The "fun" of this is that the response is always given by we messengers (and sometimes by my dear Prætorian Guard :p, which I adore) but never by the sellers themselves. "Kill the messenger", it used to be the game.

The really iterative side of Alberte

Can anybody tell me if a DVD version of TS2012 will become available at all please, I don't like direct downloads much these days.

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.
