TS12 & Re-Rail (keeps re-railing....)

I have seen this a couple times but I dont want to give up a long playing game.

Short version, In UMR TS12 is a preconfigured re-rail portal. It works, but when I manage to de-rail a train they keep coming out of the Re-Rail Portal. Thats fine, but they dont seem to stop.

Over and over and over the same train will pop out.

Is there a file I can edit to stop that behavior, or at a minimum erase the backlog?

Like I mentioned I have a session with many, many running trains running for weeks. I'd hate to lose the whole thing!

Thanks!

Hi dstelley,

Have you made sure you have enough room for the train to come out of the portal before it encounters a junction/signal?

OK - Depending on the length of the derailed train, it may not be enough. You may need to check with the creator (if they are still around).

It might have something to do with not having a registered version of Trainz to run it on. If you register your copy of Trainz you will gain access to the main forum sections where this map and its creator can be found. ;)

Why do you think its unregistered? I registered it days after I bought it. I get regular updates, I post here regularly. I'm curious why you think its "stolen?"

Did you register it on the Auran homepage? The reason we ping on this is, as well as suspect it may be an illeagal version, is because it does not show up on your train stops in your post header. If you already properly registered on the homepage, then a click on the helpdesk button on top of the page is recommended to get this fixed.

When I go to the Auran homepage under my account, I see
[h=3]Registered Serial Numbers[/h] Railroad Simulator - powered by TS12

followed by the cd key for my version, so I think its registered.... I have a valid first class ticket, I get regular patches from my game. I dont know what else to do to make it "
show up on your train stops in your post header" whatever that means.
What more am I to do?

As far as the original request for help, someone mentioned the length of the train may be the cause along with the length of the approach. That may well be what it is, but I'm still not sure what is happening.

The train was a quite long coal train, maybe close to 50 cars when it derailed. The approach length is very long though, easily capable of the whole thing, in fact right now there are 3 of the exact same train sitting on the re-rail portal. when I delete one (or all of them) they just keep coming out and stopping, waiting for further orders. Thats what I want to stop, them from keep coming out.

Post header, the track next to your name. See mine, shows which are registered to me.
Might help if you say which route it is and also which re rail portal it is. IIRC there is an older portal with a duff script once placed in newer versions of trainz, was ok prior to that. In fact I've had the same problem.

Then, you may have to put in a trouble call by clicking the helpdesk button on top of the page. They will help to resolve the serial #/trainstops issue.

The route is UMR-TS12-SUMMER, being played in single mode. It seem like a great way to learn the game. I get the most enjoyment it seems by being more of a dispatcher, than an engineer. I have little imagination so creating a world (route) is quite foreign to me. I enjoy very much exploring the routes others have spent so much time creating. I can only envy there ability to create these things.

If you want to play the game from your last save, then your out of luck, as the game will always start where you left of, the only way around it is to alter the map in edit mode with a different re-rail port then test it and start again.

You can always go back to your saved game but it will always have the faulty re-rail port in it.

I have long since wished that I could just flick a switch and turn a saved game file into a session file. :'(

Dstelley, i haved had that problem and short of removing the portal i use the Delete Train command. Delete each train when it appears.I had this problem in 06-09-10-now in TS 12.

Yeah I sort of figured that was my only option. Bummer though as quick as I delete the train, it reappears from the portal. My guess is the original train was too long so it went into a never ending loop. Even though 3 of the derailed trains fit on the line coming out of the portal.

I can live with it and just know that a derailed train is lost to me as long as this session is going.

This product (TS12) is amazing, and I believe most(if not all...) of the glitches I have found are of my own lack of experience. I'll get better in time.

Don't think the drive way from portal has anything to do with trains keep reapearing. On my iportal route i had a 2mile driveway from my re-rail portal and still had 8 to 10 trains reapear.Just kept deleting them till they stopped.
Why are the trains derailing? I can see if I or someone else is driving why they derail, but can't understand why a AI train derailed.???

I used to have this problem way back in 2006, dont use Rerail anymore. I use Clean Up Derailed Trains, then replace the consist with the Quick Drive rule. You need to have consists saved in the train section of Surveyor.
Cheers,
Mike

From the help desk personnel....

There is currently a known issue with the 'timeline' function on the forums, where some editions of TS12 are not currently showing in the 'timeline' next to the username. We will be looking into this, however we do not have an ETA on when this will be fixed.

that particular derail was all me! I had backed partially out of a siding not knowing the junction wasn't set my way. pulled forward and poof, all those pretty yellow "X's" showed up all up my train ....
:-(
never claimed to be a good driver!
