TS12 performance - a cab ride.

I didn't have a problem with the gadget, I'm just not sure my parents would let me download it.

Video Card: Intel (R) 82945G Express Chipset Family

My Dad: Let's get TS12. I'll pay for half.
Me: But it might not meet the minimum system specs.
Dad: Oh, it'll be fine.
Me: You sure?
Dad: Yes.
Me: Okay then.

It ain't even a real card, it's one of them chips on the motherboard that uses part of the system RAM to emulate VRAM. Equivalent performance would be about a Radeon 8500 or Nvidia 6600, combined with the single core Pentium 4 CPU I'm surprised it runs at all.

It runs good enough for me to use Cabon City and Murchison 2. The built in routes barely run though. I get about 1 FPS on the NEC.

I'm surprised with that. Does Content Manager work?

Shane

P.S. My gadget does not require any installation if you do get allowed to try it out.

Nothing surprising about it, both his CPU and GPU fall ridiculously short of the minimum requirements. Which means the PC information test won't do him any good either, updating drivers won't improve much if anything. It WILL run - poorly - on a Pentium D 2.8ghz dual core with an Nvidia 8400GS 512mb and 2 gigs system RAM, but I sure wouldn't try to run it on a Pentium 4 with an integrated graphics chip.

I have heard that updates to the driver may help him a bit, but probably not a lot. It probably needs a new graphics card.

Shane

Minimum specs call for a Pentium D 3.4ghz - the Pentium D is a dual core. It WILL run on a Pentium D 2.8, which is a slower dual core. The Pentium 4 is the previous generation, and it's a single core. He needs a minimum of some kind of dual core CPU, he has an older single core, ergo he needs a new CPU, probably a new mobo since it's unlikely a mobo for a Pentium 4 would even know what dual core is, and an actual video card. A new driver would be like draining the regular gas out of a Geo Metro and filling the tank with premium in the hope that you could enter it in the Daytona 500.
