TS 2010 freezing on TS2009 content

I have both TS 2009 and TS2010 installed. I imported a TS2009 route and got several dependency errors but could not immediately fix them. I have Treez in the route so that accounts for many of the errors.

On loading my TS2009 route in Surveyor, TS2010 froze after panning over parts of my layout. Thinking it may be the dependency problem I restarted TS2010 and elected to remove missing assets. I started panning again and TS2010 froze again. There was no crash report but Windows 7 detected the program was not responding.

I can't believe its a video problem as I ran one of the standard TS2010 scenarios without this problem.

Symptoms are: the screen freezes for a few seconds and then is replaced with a white screen with the Windows 7 busy icon.

I've run both the database repair options.

System is an I7 920 processor, 6GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD4870 video car, Windows 7 (64bit)

Any thoughts?

Further to my earlier post I started one of my test sessions for the route and got a similar freeze. The consist started from the station, got about 200 metres down the track and froze. The background clickety clack noise contined for about 20-30 secs and then stopped. Each freeze has been at a different point in the layout.

Well I may have fixed my own problem. Changed the video settings from Open GL to DirectX and it seems to be behaving itself. I'm using DirectX 11. I'm used I was using OpenGL (default?) when I first tested TS2010 yesterday.

The test session for my route ran OK except half way through the session the bogies for the engine and a couple of the carriages disappeared. Looked a bit like a MagLev train or that locomotive from Back to the Future III. Restarted the session and the bogies reappeared. Weird!

I think I clicked view 4 (KP4) to go look at other parts of the layout before returning to the (single) consist in the session.

Some of my layout looks a bit motheaten where the textures didn't carry across I guess. Some paint painting required.
