Just got TS 2010 and was happy to see the Avery-Drexel route included. From a computer graphics standpoint, this has to be the most challenging route in TS 2010 (heavily forested as well as long), and I was happy to see my laptop could handle it (although my draw distance sliders had to be set midway).
Although the Milwaukee Road is long gone, part of the route west of Lookout Pass (Idaho/Montana border on I-90) is now a paved bike trail (downhill all the way), with interpretive signs along the way, tunnels, and trestles. This portion of the Milwaukee Road went from steam, to electric, to diesel, to bankrupt. And it was in competition with GN and NP which had easier terrain along the Kootenai and Clark Fork Rivers.
I have biked it twice, and there is a shuttle bus to take you from the lower end back up to the starting point near the pass. In TS 2010 edit mode, I was able to follow the bike route through the tunnels and across the trestle bridges.
