If I buy an updated version of TRS2006 which includes SP1 ( as i cannot download sp1 patch to my version ) will my paid for FCT still be valid on this new version and do I have to re register this version or carry on using my original reistration number ? Hope this makes sense !!!

The FCT is attached to your profile, and you can register more than one serial number under that profile. So you get to keep your FCT, whilst registering the serial number that came with the new TRS2006.

Nice one capt, thanks very much, I take it that I can download my back up file from my original 2006 to the new one by just overwritting the local folder ?

Yes. You may also need to delete the assets.tdx file and let it build itself again to get your old content into it.

Thanks dick. One other point the overwriting of my existing local folder to the new 2006 version will not affect its sp1 status, as of course this is why i've bought 2006 with inbuilt sp1

The Service pack only applies to game code, not assets, so your SP1 is safe.

How did you get a TRS2006 with a built-in SP1! I thought only the non-english TRS2007 and 2008 was 2006 with a service pack!

Perhaps you shouldn't think. The Auran shop sells TRS2006 with SP1.

Thanks again Capt and freightcar yes I bought it with sp1 installed from the auran shop, its worth popping into it now and again.

Following on : I've hit another problem. I backed up my "old" 2006 files to seperate hardrive and replaced 2006 with the new sp1. I then replaced its local folder with my back up one, deleted assets, reset filters and waited for it to rebuild the cmp.
However when this was done and I checked out all my old layouts sessions etc I had lost both in surveyor and driver " start up options " driver set up, driver command " etc etc it just says " no description available, so I have no drivers, rules, commands etc.
Obciously I've gone wrong somewhere can anyone help with this ?

This is a symptom of a faulty install of SP1. It is strange that you got this with a pre-patched game. There may be more information if you search for it.

Thanks again capt, I have looked around but the posts I've seen are all about sp1 patch and not about trs2006 with sp1 already installed. I bought this direct from Auran online shop so maybe I should return it ? or maybe uninstall/install again ? I am at a complete loss on this. Maybe if someone from Auran is reading this they too would like to comment

Try a reinstall for a start, if that dosen't work, then contact the (un)help(ful)desk and see what they say (if anything)
