TRS2004 won't run.

My desktop PC....XP everything up to date.
2004 has lain dormant on the PC for the last year or so.

Started it today and get two errors....
1."Fonts not correct.....require small fonts" My PC only offers Normal/Large/Extra Large.
I do believe that was an error in the past but the programme still ran.

2. This time I got a 'Fatal error' message and the programme would not run.

I uninstalled the whole programme, including all registry entries, and then reinstalled it.

I still get the same two errors!

Any advice Please?

Hi I dont think its the fronts thats causing this problem I have XP and I run 04 on normal fronts.
So lets think what else may be causing the problem when you installed or reinstalled did you install with any virus type programs running?
If you did your install may have been corrupted you will need to uninstall and reinstall but this time have any virus program disabled or not running during the install of 04 any service packs and paint shed.
if you have done this then I think the problem may be caused by the video intro and you should disable it and then try to launch 04.
Go to (default location) Local drive C program files Auran and open the TRS2004 folder ,in there you will see a trainzoptions.txt doc.
Open it and then copy or type in the following line making sure to include the -
-intro=disable
Next close and save the doc, close all open folders and launch 04 it should now load.

Thankyou Robin.....it worked perfectly

I still get the 'font comment' after inserting the disc but if I clear that and then click on the Trainz icon it starts normally.

PS. I did install with my F-Secure suite running. I may well uninstall and reinstall with it disabled after a few trips.

Hi you are welcome, you had overtime installed something that caused your PC not to recognize the intro video which in turn caused 04 not to load.
If you have 04 running OK I would not bother uninstlling it, however if you need to install a service pack or P/shed then have your F-Secure suite off or not running during the install.
