TRS19 is treating two separate custom assets as if they are the same.

I'm attempting to complete two TGV trainsets, but, I'm having trouble with uploading the final pieces to the sets, they called "TGV Unit 3" in paint shed. My process is that I save the finished rollingstock to TRS 2004 and then import the content folders to TRS 2019. The exact issue is that even though the are two separate assets, the game treats them like they are the same exact asset and replaces one with the other.

I looked at kuids for both and found they were same <kuid:-2:94219280>, I'm guessing this might be what's causing my problem.

No need to guess, it’s exactly that. The kuid number is the primary factor determining an asset’s identity. Names and physical appearance mean nothing compared to that.

I think this happened because I would often recolor previously painted rolling stock, then save it under a different name, this then creates a new piece of rolling stock while leaving the previous one unaltered. Usually I haven't had any problems like this, it's the first time this has happened.

I've tried deleting them from the game and from paint shed, then I recreated them both from fresh templates, instead of recoloring one to make another, after that I re import them, however, that didn't fix the issue.

What else could I try, to give them separate kuids?

Instead of recoloring and saving under a different name, you should clone the asset, then recolor the clone. This will give you a new asset with a new KUID.

I don’t totally understand your process, but why not simply open the config.txt file of an asset and manually edit the kuid number, making sure it’s different from any of your other assets?
