... I think is a better way to solve the unfairness from nv3 on monthly or yearly payments which is basically asking us to pay for something that we will never actually own.
There are only a few people here who are claiming that the subscription system, which is now becoming quite common in the software industry, is "unfair". In any case, even when you "buy" software outright you usually do not own it. The End User License Agreement that comes with virtually all software these days that you would have read before you clicked "I Agree" or "Install" (you did read it didn't you?) states that you have purchased a license or the right to use the software which always remains the property of the developer. So subscription or outright purchase, it does not matter - you do not own it.
All those that have a first class ticket pay nothing else until there ticket runs out because they have already paid for that, they get access to all the downloads from 2019 to any version of trainz they require
If you have a first class ticket when you purchase a Gold or Silver subscription you will get a discount on the monthly subscription until the FCT expires, which for some people will be 2036. Not sure what you mean by "all the download" but Gold subscription members get, I believe, 5 free DLC downloads of their choice every month and get a discount on the purchase of any additional DLC downloads each month. Not sure about access to "any version of Trainz" as I have not seen that.
The game 2019 comes down in price to say to around $50.00, a much fairer price for everyone because the game has bugs and even some of the people who have bought it have some complaints.
I am sure that eventually it will drop in price. TANE started at a similar price when it was first released and can now be purchased for $US40. Certainly there will be sales every now and then.
As for the bugs, that is expected whenever you buy the first release version of any new software and we were told that the Early Release version of TRS19 would not be 100% complete, it will not have all the built ins, etc. But those who have purchased the early release, such as myself, will get the full retail version upgrade when it is released. But bugs or not, I am extremely happy with my copy of TRS19, far happier than I was with the first copy of TANE.
My suggestion is that we need a group of helpful and understanding players who don't rant and rave about things.
That gets my vote. But I don't think any negotiation or Shane as a mediator is necessary - it is a very minor flame war.
All prices are negotiable and we should get rid of the silly silver and gold ticket ideas and just have one fct first class ticket.
I disagree completely. They are not silly, they obviously suit some people and, according to Tony, the Gold sales are exceeding all expectations.
Why are you trying to stop people from having a choice? It is their money and their decision.
