TRS19 - Early Access Is Coming!

Ok, thanks, that sort of answered my question. I edited the question while you answered, so my question is still sort of unanswered. If All I do is order it via a gold membership, according to the website, I lose access to TRS19 if my subscription lapses. Is this true?
Honestly, I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers, I just don't want to just get a gold subscription if I can't use the game at all if my subscription lapses. From the sounds of it, it will be better to purchase the full game, then consider adding a membership of some sort (gold being the obvious best)
Thanks for being patient.

Yes this is correct.

If you purchase the game, then Silver is the obvious choice to get all the DLC (otherwise you're paying extra for the game you already own).

By this point we must accept that DTG has a better buisinessmodel than N3V.

Seriously?
You seen what you get with TSW and how that's still lacking?
Trainz has always been more than a sim. I used to create and play with train sim but returned to trainz recently after realising you can do so much more than just drive.

I agree. Why should any of us care about N3V's business model? That's for Tony and his crew to be concerned about. What we do need to care about is whether Trainz is here next year and the years after. That will only happen if we support Trainz and enable both its further development and support.

It will only happen if N3V produce product that people want to use and in business modes that they want to use. It seems to me that with TRS19 they have done so (if a little pricey for my tastes).

Hello all this is my opinion on this new release going by what mr hillerman is saying this is the best so far unlike some of the other duffers we have all had so how can he prove it's that good a playable demo would settle the arguments over to you mr hillerman.
It's far to expensive and the idea of paying for the downloads,I have a fct but as I understand it I can't download any of the 2019 assets, also who is going to make all the third party assets looked what happened to tane.
I would buy this only if I get a 50% reduction and be able to download 2019 assets on my fct which I paid for.
Think before you buy this we need proof it's any good playable DEMO mr hillerman

If my health really packs up and I die and I arrange to have my estate keep my subscription going can I still play Trainz in the afterlife?

Heaven knows! :)

Hi Roger. (Btw, my name appears in quite a lot of places. Hillerman is close, but if you compare the letters closely, you will see that you've not got things quite right).

I have a fct but as I understand it I can't download any of the 2019 assets
>> Please explain where you got this understanding as it is totally wrong. We would like to find out so we can amend whatever misinformation is out there.

You will have to explain this in more detail. TANE has had more 3rd party content created than any other Trainz version in history, so I don't understand your point.

Again, not sure which assets you are referring to - TRS19 operates pretty much the same as TANE when it comes to downloading things. All TANE DLC will be compatible with TRS19. All DLS items that are TANE compatible will be TRS19 compatible.

Think before you buy this we need proof it's any good playable DEMO mr hillerman
>> Alternatively, you can read the reviews of people who buy TRS19 and claim it to be the best everversion. There aren't to many reviews yet - the people who have bought it are far to engrossed in enjoying the best ever version of Trainz to spend time reviewing things.

Sorry about that Tony but can you answer my question please, so your saying 2019 is the best so far ? how do the public know that is so, if your that confident why not give a free playable demo to prove your point,
The vast majority of people on the forums do not think this is a good idea for 2019 not the way to go so may go elsewhere you are making a big mistake here.
What about all the loyal people who have made content for all trainz versions and supporters and you shock them with this really a very stupid move.
Why was tane given a vast discount if it was so good and valued at over $300 or so, and a lot of the content included in the price was old.

Hi Roger, I am sure that Mr Hillerman, and perhaps better - Mr Hilliam, will be replying ... but I have some thoughts.

1. How do we know that TRS2019 is better than anything else N3V have produced? We don't, but logic would suggest commercial suicide if it was worse than prior versions wouldn't it? We also know that the lighting has been improved, and that ground cover options have been developed. Based on my past experiences, I would highly question TRS2019's ability to do everything claimed right now, but it will eventually (ref. TANE's track record). I have no doubt that TRS2019 has the potential for being the best train sim out there .... my only question is - How long will take to fix the inevitable "glitches" that will surface. Give N3V some credit for taking a train sim to this level of detail and, like me, you should perhaps simply be patient and monitor the forum dialogues. You can then make a fact-based decision on if/when to buy TRS2019.

2. The "vast majority of people" seems rather like an emotional statement without any logistical basis. The "vast majority"? Really?

3. I have built many highly detailed Routes for Trainz (TRS2004 to TANE), which average 200+ hours each. Yes, I can get very frustrated when a new Trainz version dictates another pile of hours to make things work ... but that is my choice. TANE has provided huge improvements over prior versions, and I wanted to adapt my Routes to take advantage of such improvements. I consider myself to be a very "loyal" person and a "creator" (your words) supporter, but I am not shocked by this move, and do not think it stupid.

4. Backwards compatibility has always been a tender subject for discussion, but you cannot want backwards compatibility ... and complain about old assets. However, like the decision to buy/not to buy TS2019, there are choices. In my Routes and Sessions, I choose to use assets which I feel are appropriate. I really don't care whether they were created for TRS2004, TANE, or a version in between. If an asset works for me ... I use it!

Like any new software, TRS2019 is going to have issues. You can choose to either buy it now, knowing very well that there will be hiccups. You can then advise N3V and be a constructive part of the "fine tuning" process, or you can just enjoy whatever Trainz version is your current choice and wait for a while before making a decision re TRS2019. Regards. Colin (Driver_Col)

I agree with Driver_Col here. Your claim that the "vast majority ... do not think this is a good idea" is based solely on those who have posted complaints - a common misconception. What about all those people who have not posted complaints? Did you count them as well? According to Tony, the number of Gold memberships sold for TS19 in the first 24 hrs has exceeded all expectations. Another statement he made, based on figures from (I presume) his servers, is that in that first 24 hrs the number of TS19 users equaled half the number of TANE users so I would state, with these figures to back me up, that the "vast majority" do not agree with you.

The vast majority of people on the forums do not think this is a good idea for 2019 not the way to go so may go elsewhere you are making a big mistake here.

While I don't intend to go the subscription way myself, I'm sure there are others who will/have.

I remember a survey on the subject, so I'd suggest that N3V have a much better idea of what is popular than the average punter.

I haven't tried enough an haven't tried surveyor yet, but so far it is indeed the best version of trainz I have ever played, at least in terms of graphics and driver option.

Ok i'm not saying it's not any good just the way nv3 have done it and what iv'e seen on this forum and some others it's a thumbs down from most people and I would not and cannot afford to pay $70 for this because I dont know what it's like you cant go by screen shots they look nice and iv'e seen it on you tube.
you tell me how people are supposed to know if it's worth the asking price theres only one way a playable demo then you can decide up to a point.
Iv'e had nearly every trainz version and railworks and trainsimulator, trainz has things I like list of trains on screen select anyone and drive it,run round train and couple and and uncouple and other things trainsimulator hasen't got those.
I bought a game the other day called transport fever £26.99 on steam oops big mistake full of bugs.

While everyone has their own perception as to what is good or bad, where do you read that most people give the game a thumbs down? While there is a lot of noise about the new subscription method, having been involved with the beta testing, I have not read many negative comments on what it does, how it looks and performs.

To martinvk I did not say it was good or bad and i think most people are saying the same thing iv'e seen comments on this forum and british trainz forum and I saw one comment saying it was a rip off,I would say most people are annoyed about the way they have gone about it, £55.00 to me for something I know very little about only pictures and a video, if they are so confident thats it's really good let them do a playable demo,it's not nv3 paying for the purchess is it.
And what about all the people who have supported trainz over all the years many hours work it's like a kick in the teeth.
And how many people are going to make content for this you cant even get much decent content for tane I will not buy it at that price,
